Te doy gracias de todo corazón
138 De David.
Te doy gracias de todo corazón,
en presencia de dioses te canto.
2 Me postraré ante tu santo Templo,
por tu amor y tu verdad te alabaré,
pues haces que tu promesa supere tu fama.
3 Cuando clamé, me respondiste,
hiciste que aumentara mi fuerza.
4 Señor, te alabarán todos los reyes de la tierra
cuando escuchen las palabras de tu boca.
5 Cantarán en los caminos del Señor
que la gloria del Señor es inmensa,
6 que es excelso el Señor: atiende al humilde,
reconoce al soberbio desde lejos.
7 Si camino en peligro, me salvas la vida,
extiendes tu mano contra mis rivales
y tu diestra me pone a salvo.
8 El Señor acabará lo que ha hecho por mí.
¡Señor, tu amor es eterno!
¡No abandones la obra de tus manos!

138 Een lied van David.
Met mijn hele hart zal ik U prijzen en roemen.
Ik daag de machtigen uit en zing psalmen voor U.
2 In uw heilige tempel wil ik op mijn knieën gaan
en uw naam eren om uw goedheid, liefde en trouw.
Want U hebt tot eer van uw naam al uw beloften ingelost.
3 Toen ik U aanriep, hebt U mij antwoord gegeven.
U gaf mij nieuwe moed en kracht om verder te gaan.
4 Here, eenmaal zullen alle koningen van deze aarde
U prijzen, wanneer zij hebben gehoord wat U zegt.
5 Zij zullen liederen zingen over alles wat de Here doet,
want zijn macht en majesteit zijn onmetelijk groot.
6 De Here is hoog verheven en ziet vol liefde neer
op ieder die zich van zijn kleinheid bewust is.
Maar trotse mensen wil Hij niet kennen.
7 Wanneer ik in grote moeite en zorgen verkeer,
houdt U mij vast.
U houdt de woede van mijn vijanden bij mij weg
en bevrijdt mij door uw kracht.
8 De Here zal ervoor zorgen dat alles goed voor mij afloopt.
Here, uw goedheid en liefde zijn eeuwig.
Laat het werk dat U bent begonnen,
niet halverwege ophouden.

1 I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart;
before the “gods”(A) I will sing(B) your praise.
2 I will bow down toward your holy temple(C)
and will praise your name(D)
for your unfailing love and your faithfulness,(E)
for you have so exalted your solemn decree
that it surpasses your fame.(F)
3 When I called,(G) you answered me;(H)
you greatly emboldened(I) me.
4 May all the kings of the earth(J) praise you, Lord,
when they hear what you have decreed.
5 May they sing(K) of the ways of the Lord,
for the glory of the Lord(L) is great.
6 Though the Lord is exalted, he looks kindly on the lowly;(M)
though lofty, he sees them(N) from afar.
7 Though I walk(O) in the midst of trouble,
you preserve my life.(P)
You stretch out your hand(Q) against the anger of my foes;(R)
with your right hand(S) you save me.(T)
8 The Lord will vindicate(U) me;
your love, Lord, endures forever(V)—
do not abandon(W) the works of your hands.(X)

138 I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee.
2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
3 In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul.
4 All the kings of the earth shall praise thee, O Lord, when they hear the words of thy mouth.
5 Yea, they shall sing in the ways of the Lord: for great is the glory of the Lord.
6 Though the Lord be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.
7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.
8 The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O Lord, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.
