Prayer for Deliverance from Enemies

To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David.

13 How long, O Lord? Wilt thou forget me for ever?
    How long wilt thou hide thy face from me?
How long must I bear pain[a] in my soul,
    and have sorrow in my heart all the day?
How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?

Consider and answer me, O Lord my God;
    lighten my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;
lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed over him”;
    lest my foes rejoice because I am shaken.

But I have trusted in thy steadfast love;
    my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.
I will sing to the Lord,
    because he has dealt bountifully with me.

Consider and hear me, O Lord my God;

Lest those who trouble me rejoice when I am moved.

But I have trusted in Your mercy;
My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.

Hur länge, Herre, skall du alldeles glömma mig?
Hur länge skall du dölja ditt ansikte för mig?
Hur länge skall jag oroas i min själ
    och ängslas i mitt hjärta dagligen?
Hur länge skall min fiende triumfera över mig?

Se till mig och svara mig, Herre, min Gud!
Upplys mina ögon, så att jag ej somnar in i döden.
Låt inte min fiende säga:
    "Jag blev honom för stark"
och mina ovänner glädja sig när jag vacklar.
Jag förtröstar på din nåd,
    mitt hjärta jublar över din frälsning.
Jag vill sjunga till Herrens ära,
    ty han är god mot mig.

How long must I wrestle with my thoughts(D)
    and day after day have sorrow in my heart?
    How long will my enemy triumph over me?(E)

Look on me(F) and answer,(G) Lord my God.
    Give light to my eyes,(H) or I will sleep in death,(I)
and my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,(J)
    and my foes will rejoice when I fall.(K)

But I trust in your unfailing love;(L)
    my heart rejoices in your salvation.(M)
I will sing(N) the Lord’s praise,
    for he has been good to me.
