Psalm 13
Christian Standard Bible
Psalm 13
A Plea for Deliverance
For the choir director. A psalm of David.
1 How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever?
How long will you hide your face from me?(A)
2 How long will I store up anxious concerns[a] within me,
agony in my mind every day?
How long will my enemy dominate me?(B)
3 Consider me and answer, Lord my God.
Restore brightness to my eyes;(C)
otherwise, I will sleep in death.
4 My enemy will say, “I have triumphed over him,”
and my foes will rejoice because I am shaken.(D)
5 But I have trusted in your faithful love;(E)
my heart will rejoice in your deliverance.(F)
6 I will sing to the Lord
because he has treated me generously.(G)

Salmos 13
O Livro
Salmo de David. Para o diretor do coro.
13 Até quando te esquecerás de mim, Senhor?
Será para sempre?
Até quando esconderás de mim o teu rosto?
2 Até quando estarei metido comigo mesmo,
acumulando tristeza no meu coração?
Até quando é que o meu inimigo
continuará a ter vantagens sobre mim?
3 Repara na minha situação e responde-me,
Senhor, meu Deus;
dá-me a tua luz, para que não morra nas trevas.
4 E para que o meu adversário não diga:
“Já o tenho na mão!”
E para que os que me querem mal
não possam alegrar-se por eu ter caído.
5 Eu confio na tua misericórdia;
o meu coração se alegra na tua salvação.
6 Hei de cantar ao Senhor,
porque tem sido muito o bem que me tem feito.

Trust in the Salvation of the Lord
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.
13 How long, O Lord? Will You forget me forever?
(A)How long will You hide Your face from me?
2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul,
Having sorrow in my heart daily?
How long will my enemy be exalted over me?
3 Consider and hear me, O Lord my God;
(B)Enlighten my eyes,
(C)Lest I sleep the sleep of death;
4 Lest my enemy say,
“I have prevailed against him”;
Lest those who trouble me rejoice when I am moved.
5 But I have trusted in Your mercy;
My heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.
6 I will sing to the Lord,
Because He has dealt bountifully with me.
