Prayer for the Overthrow of Zion’s Enemies.

A Song of Ascents.

129 [a]Many times they have (A)attacked me from my (B)youth up,”
(C)Let Israel say,
[b]Many times they have attacked me from my youth up;
Yet they have (D)not prevailed against me.
The plowers plowed upon my back;
They lengthened their furrows.”
The Lord (E)is righteous;
He has cut up the (F)ropes of the wicked.

May all who (G)hate Zion
Be (H)put to shame and turned backward;
May they be like (I)grass upon the housetops,
Which withers before it [c]grows up;
With which the harvester does not fill his [d]hand,
Or the binder of sheaves his [e](J)arms;
Nor do those who pass by say,
“The (K)blessing of the Lord be upon you;
We bless you in the name of the Lord.”

Hope in the Lords Forgiving Love.

A Song of Ascents.

130 Out of the (L)depths I have cried to You, Lord.
Lord, (M)hear my voice!
Let (N)Your ears be attentive
To the (O)sound of my pleadings.
If You, [f]Lord, were to keep account of guilty deeds,
Lord, who could (P)stand?
But there is (Q)forgiveness with You,
So that You may be [g](R)revered.

I wait for the Lord, my (S)soul waits,
And I [h]wait (T)for His word.
My soul waits in hope for the Lord
More than the watchmen (U)for the morning;
Yes, more than the watchmen for the morning.
Israel, (V)wait for the Lord;
For with the Lord there is (W)mercy,
And with Him is (X)abundant redemption.
And He will (Y)redeem Israel
From all his guilty deeds.

Childlike Trust in the Lord.

A Song of Ascents, of David.

131 Lord, my heart is not (Z)proud, nor my eyes (AA)arrogant;
Nor do I [i]involve myself in (AB)great matters,
Or in things (AC)too [j]difficult for me.
I have certainly (AD)soothed and quieted my soul;
Like a weaned (AE)child resting [k]against his mother,
My soul [l]within me is like a weaned child.
Israel, (AF)wait for the Lord
(AG)From this time on and forever.

Prayer for the Lords Blessing upon the Sanctuary.

A Song of Ascents.

132 Remember, Lord, in David’s behalf,
All (AH)his affliction;
How he swore to the Lord
And vowed to (AI)the Mighty One of Jacob,
“I certainly will not [m]enter (AJ)my house,
Nor [n]lie on my bed;
I will not (AK)give sleep to my eyes
Or slumber to my eyelids,
Until I find a (AL)place for the Lord,
[o]A dwelling place for (AM)the Mighty One of Jacob.”

Behold, we heard about it in (AN)Ephrathah,
We found it in the (AO)field of [p]Jaar.
Let’s go into His [q](AP)dwelling place;
Let’s (AQ)worship at His (AR)footstool.
(AS)Arise, Lord, to Your (AT)resting place,
You and the ark of Your (AU)strength.
May Your priests be (AV)clothed with righteousness,
And may Your (AW)godly ones sing for joy.

10 For the sake of Your servant David,
Do not turn away the face of Your (AX)anointed.
11 The Lord has (AY)sworn to David
A truth from which He will not turn back:
“I will set upon your throne one (AZ)from the fruit of your body.
12 If your sons will keep My covenant
And My testimony which I will teach them,
Their sons also will (BA)sit upon your throne forever.”

13 For the Lord has (BB)chosen Zion;
He has (BC)desired it as His dwelling place.
14 “This is My (BD)resting place forever;
Here I will (BE)dwell, for I have desired it.
15 I will abundantly (BF)bless her food;
I will (BG)satisfy her needy with bread.
16 I will also clothe her (BH)priests with salvation,
And her (BI)godly ones will sing aloud for joy.
17 I will make the (BJ)horn of David spring forth there;
I have prepared a (BK)lamp for My anointed.
18 I will (BL)clothe his enemies with shame,
But upon himself his (BM)crown will gleam.”
