Psalm 125
A song of ascents.
1 Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion,(A)
which cannot be shaken(B) but endures forever.
2 As the mountains surround Jerusalem,(C)
so the Lord surrounds(D) his people
both now and forevermore.
3 The scepter(E) of the wicked will not remain(F)
over the land allotted to the righteous,
for then the righteous might use
their hands to do evil.(G)
4 Lord, do good(H) to those who are good,
to those who are upright in heart.(I)
5 But those who turn(J) to crooked ways(K)
the Lord will banish(L) with the evildoers.

O cântare a treptelor
1 Cei ce se încred în Domnul sunt ca Muntele Sionului, care nu se clatină, ci stă întărit pe vecie.
2 Cum este înconjurat Ierusalimul de munţi,
aşa înconjoară Domnul pe poporul Său,
de acum şi până în veac.
3 Căci toiagul(A) de cârmuire al răutăţii nu va rămâne pe moştenirea celor neprihăniţi,
pentru ca cei neprihăniţi să nu întindă mâinile spre nelegiuire.
4 Doamne, varsă-Ţi binefacerile peste cei buni
şi peste cei cu inima fără prihană!
5 Dar pe cei ce apucă pe căi(B) lăturalnice,
să-i nimicească Domnul împreună cu cei ce fac rău!
Pacea(C) să fie peste Israel!
