Psalm 125
A song of ascents.
1 Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion,(A)
which cannot be shaken(B) but endures forever.
2 As the mountains surround Jerusalem,(C)
so the Lord surrounds(D) his people
both now and forevermore.
3 The scepter(E) of the wicked will not remain(F)
over the land allotted to the righteous,
for then the righteous might use
their hands to do evil.(G)
4 Lord, do good(H) to those who are good,
to those who are upright in heart.(I)
5 But those who turn(J) to crooked ways(K)
the Lord will banish(L) with the evildoers.

Sécurité inébranlable
125 Cantique pour la route vers la demeure de l’Eternel[a].
Ceux qui ont placé leur confiance ╵en l’Eternel
sont comme le mont de Sion : ╵il n’est pas ébranlé
et subsiste à jamais.
2 Comme Jérusalem ╵est entourée par des montagnes,
l’Eternel entoure son peuple
dès maintenant ╵et à jamais.
3 Un pouvoir criminel ╵ne pourra dominer
sur le territoire échu en partage aux justes,
afin que les justes n’en viennent pas ╵à prêter eux aussi la main ╵à des actes coupables.
4 Fais du bien, Eternel, ╵à celui qui est bon,
à celui qui a le cœur droit !
5 Mais ceux qui se détournent ╵vers des voies tortueuses,
que l’Eternel les chasse
avec tous ceux qui font le mal !
Que la paix soit sur Israël !

125 The people who trust in the Lord
are like Mount Zion:
never shaken, lasting forever.
2 Mountains surround Jerusalem.
That’s how the Lord surrounds his people
from now until forever from now!
3 The wicked rod won’t remain
in the land given to the righteous
so that they don’t use their hands to do anything wrong.[a]
4 Lord, do good to people who are good,
to people whose hearts are right.
5 But as for those people who turn to their own twisted ways—
may the Lord march them off with other evildoers!
