²As the mountains surround Jerusalem,^(A)
so the Lord surrounds^(B) his people
both now and forevermore.

³The scepter^(C) of the wicked will not remain^(D)
over the land allotted to the righteous,
for then the righteous might use
their hands to do evil.^(E)

⁴Lord, do good^(F) to those who are good,
to those who are upright in heart.^(G)
