Psalm 124
A song of ascents. Of David.
1 If the Lord had not been on our side—
let Israel say(A)—
2 if the Lord had not been on our side
when people attacked us,
3 they would have swallowed us alive
when their anger flared against us;
4 the flood(B) would have engulfed us,
the torrent(C) would have swept over us,
5 the raging waters
would have swept us away.

O cântare a treptelor.
Un psalm al lui David
1 De n-ar fi fost Domnul de partea noastră,
să spună(A) Israel acum!
2 De n-ar fi fost Domnul de partea noastră
când s-au ridicat oamenii împotriva noastră,
3 ne-ar(B) fi înghiţit de vii
când li s-a aprins mânia împotriva noastră;
4 ne-ar fi înecat apele,
ar fi trecut râurile peste sufletul nostru;
5 ar fi trecut peste sufletul nostru valurile năpraznice.
6 Binecuvântat să fie Domnul,
care nu ne-a dat pradă dinţilor lor!
7 Sufletul ne-a scăpat ca(C) pasărea din laţul păsărarului;
laţul s-a rupt, şi noi am scăpat.
8 Ajutorul(D) nostru este în Numele Domnului,
care(E) a făcut cerurile şi pământul.
