Unterwegs unter Gottes Schutz

121 Ein Lied für Festbesucher, die nach Jerusalem hinaufziehen.

Ich schaue hinauf zu den Bergen –
    woher kann ich Hilfe erwarten?
2 Meine Hilfe kommt vom Herrn,
    der Himmel und Erde gemacht hat!

3 Der Herr wird nicht zulassen, dass du fällst;
    er, dein Beschützer, schläft nicht.
4 Ja, der Beschützer Israels
    schläft und schlummert nicht.
5 Der Herr gibt auf dich acht; er steht dir zur Seite
    und bietet dir Schutz vor drohenden Gefahren[a].
6 Tagsüber wird dich die Sonnenglut nicht verbrennen,
    und in der Nacht wird der Mond dir nicht schaden.
7 Der Herr schützt dich vor allem Unheil,
    er bewahrt dein Leben.
8 Er gibt auf dich acht, wenn du aus dem Haus gehst
und wenn du wieder heimkehrst.
    Jetzt und für immer steht er dir bei!

1 Ein Wallfahrtslied.

Ich hebe meine Augen auf zu den Bergen:
Woher kommt mir Hilfe?

2 Meine Hilfe kommt von dem Herrn,
der Himmel und Erde gemacht hat!

3 Er wird deinen Fuß nicht wanken lassen,
und der dich behütet, schläft nicht.

4 Siehe, der Hüter Israels
schläft noch schlummert nicht.

5 Der Herr behütet dich;
der Herr ist dein Schatten zu deiner rechten Hand,

6 dass dich am Tag die Sonne nicht steche,
noch der Mond bei Nacht.

7 Der Herr behüte dich vor allem Übel,[a]
er behüte deine Seele;

8 der Herr behüte deinen Ausgang und Eingang
von nun an bis in Ewigkeit.

1 I lift up my eyes to the mountains.
Where does my help come from?
2 My help comes from the Lord,
    the Maker of heaven and earth.
3 He will not let your foot stumble.
He who watches over you will not slumber.
4 Yes, he who watches over Israel will not slumber.
He will not sleep.
5 The Lord watches over you.
The Lord is your shade at your right hand.
6 The sun will not strike you by day,
nor the moon by night.
7 The Lord will watch to keep you from all harm.[a]
He will watch over your life.[b]
8 The Lord will watch over your going and your coming
    from now to eternity.

4 Jamás duerme ni se adormece
    el que cuida de Israel.

5 El Señor es quien te cuida;
    el Señor es tu sombra a tu mano derecha.

    ni la luna de noche.

7 El Señor te cuidará;
    de todo mal guardará tu vida.
8 El Señor cuidará tu salida y tu entrada,
