121 1 This Psalm teacheth that the faithful ought only to look for help at God, 7 who only doth maintain, preserve and prosper his Church.

A song of degrees.

I will lift up mine eyes [a]unto the mountains, from whence my help shall come.

Mine help cometh from the Lord, which hath made the [b]heaven and the earth.

He will not suffer thy foot to slip: for he that keepeth thee, will not [c]slumber.

Behold, he that keepeth Israel, will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shadow at thy right hand.

The sun shall not [d]smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall keep thy soul.

The Lord shall preserve thy [e]going out, and thy coming in from henceforth and forever.

Ang Panginoon ang Aking Tagapag-ingat

121 Tumitingin ako sa mga bundok;
    saan kaya nanggagaling ang aking saklolo?

    Ang nag-iingat sa mga taga-Israel ay hindi umiidlip o natutulog.
Ang Panginoon ang nag-iingat sa iyo;
    siyaʼy kasama mo upang ikaw ay patnubayan.
Hindi makakasakit sa iyo ang init ng araw o ang liwanag ng buwan kung gabi.[a]
Iingatan ka ng Panginoon sa anumang kapahamakan;
    pati ang buhay moʼy kanyang iingatan.
Ang Panginoon ang mag-iingat sa iyo nasaan ka man,
    ngayon at magpakailanman.

Footnotes

  1. 121:6 Noon, alam na ng mga sinaunang tao na nagdudulot ng kapinsalaan ang matinding sikat ng araw, at naniniwalang ang liwanag ng buwan ay may dalang sakit.

Psalm 121

A song of ascents.

I lift up my eyes to the mountains—
    where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
    the Maker of heaven(A) and earth.(B)

He will not let your foot slip—
    he who watches over you will not slumber;
indeed, he who watches(C) over Israel
    will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord watches over(D) you—
    the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
the sun(E) will not harm you by day,
    nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all harm(F)
    he will watch over your life;
the Lord will watch over your coming and going
    both now and forevermore.(G)
