Psalm 121

The Lord Our Protector

A song of ascents.

1 I lift my eyes toward the mountains.
Where will my help come from?(A)
2 My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.(B)

3 He will not allow your foot to slip;
your Protector will not slumber.(C)
4 Indeed, the Protector of Israel
does not slumber or sleep.(D)

5 The Lord protects you;
the Lord is a shelter right by your side.[a](E)
6 The sun will not strike you by day
or the moon by night.(F)

7 The Lord will protect you from all harm;
he will protect your life.(G)
8 The Lord will protect your coming and going
both now and forever.(H)

Jag lyfter mina ögon till bergen.
    Varifrån kommer min hjälp?

2 [b]Min hjälp kommer från Herren,
    som har gjort himmel och jord.
3 [c]Inte låter han din fot vackla,
    inte slumrar han som bevarar dig.
4 Nej, han som bevarar Israel,
    han slumrar inte, han sover inte.

5 [d]Herren bevarar dig,
    Herren är ditt skydd
        på din högra sida.
6 [e]Solen ska inte skada dig
        om dagen,
    inte månen om natten.
7 [f]Herren ska bevara dig
        från allt ont,
    han ska bevara din själ.
8 [g]Herren ska bevara
        din utgång och din ingång,
    från nu och till evig tid.

121 I (A)will lift up my eyes to the hills—
From whence comes my help?
2 (B)My help comes from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.

3 (C)He will not allow your foot to [a]be moved;
(D)He who keeps you will not slumber.
4 Behold, He who keeps Israel
Shall neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The Lord is your [b]keeper;
The Lord is (E)your shade (F)at your right hand.
6 (G)The sun shall not strike you by day,
Nor the moon by night.

7 The Lord shall [c]preserve you from all evil;
He shall (H)preserve your soul.
8 The Lord shall (I)preserve[d] your going out and your coming in
From this time forth, and even forevermore.
