Psalm 121
English Standard Version
My Help Comes from the Lord
A Song of (A)Ascents.
121 I (B)lift up my eyes to (C)the hills.
From where does my help come?
2 (D)My help comes from the Lord,
who (E)made heaven and earth.
3 He will not (F)let your foot be moved;
he who (G)keeps you will not slumber.
4 Behold, he who keeps Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.

Let Us Go to the House of the Lord
A Song of (A)Ascents. Of David.
122 I was glad when they said to me,
(B)“Let us go to the house of the Lord!”
2 Our feet have been standing
within your gates, O Jerusalem!
3 Jerusalem—(C)built as a city
that is (D)bound firmly together,
4 to which the tribes (E)go up,
the tribes of the Lord,
as was (F)decreed for[a] Israel,
to give thanks to the name of the Lord.
5 There (G)thrones for judgment were set,
the thrones of the house of David.
6 (H)Pray for the peace of Jerusalem!
“May they be secure who love you!
7 Peace be within your (I)walls
and security within your (J)towers!”
8 For my brothers and companions' sake
I will say, (K)“Peace be within you!”
9 For the sake of the house of the Lord our God,
I will (L)seek your good.

The Lord, the Only Savior
14 Thus says the Lord:
(A)“The wealth of Egypt and the merchandise of Cush,
and the Sabeans, men of stature,
shall come over to you (B)and be yours;
they shall follow you;
they shall come over in chains and bow down to you.
They will plead with you, saying:
‘Surely God is in you, and there is no other,
no god besides him.’”
15 (C)Truly, you are a God who hides himself,
O God of Israel, the Savior.
16 (D)All of them are put to shame and confounded;
the makers of idols go in confusion together.
17 But Israel is saved by the Lord
with everlasting salvation;
(E)you shall not be put to shame or confounded
to all eternity.
18 (F)For thus says the Lord,
who created the heavens
(he is God!),
who formed the earth and made it
(he established it;
he (G)did not create it empty,
(H)he formed it to be inhabited!):
“I am the Lord, and there is no other.
19 (I)I did not speak in secret,
in a land of darkness;
I did not say to the offspring of Jacob,
(J)‘Seek me in vain.’[a]
I the Lord speak (K)the truth;
I declare what is right.

Paul's Ministry to the Church
24 Now (A)I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh (B)I am filling up (C)what is lacking in Christ's afflictions (D)for the sake of his body, that is, the church, 25 (E)of which I became a minister according to (F)the stewardship from God that was given to me for you, to make the word of God fully known, 26 (G)the mystery hidden for ages and generations but now revealed to his saints. 27 (H)To them God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are (I)the riches of the glory of (J)this mystery, which is Christ in you, (K)the hope of glory. 28 Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that (L)we may present everyone (M)mature in Christ. 29 For this (N)I toil, (O)struggling (P)with all his energy that he powerfully works within me.
2 For I want you to know (Q)how great a (R)struggle I have for you and for those at Laodicea and for all who have not seen me face to face, 2 that (S)their hearts may be encouraged, being (T)knit together in love, to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of (U)God's mystery, which is Christ, 3 (V)in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. 4 I say this in order (W)that no one may delude you with plausible arguments. 5 For (X)though I am absent in body, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your (Y)good order and (Z)the firmness of your faith in Christ.
Alive in Christ
6 (AA)Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, 7 (AB)rooted and (AC)built up in him and (AD)established in the faith, just (AE)as you were taught, abounding (AF)in thanksgiving.

I Am the Light of the World
12 (A)Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, (B)“I am the light of the world. Whoever (C)follows me will not (D)walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” 13 So the Pharisees said to him, (E)“You are bearing witness about yourself; your testimony is not true.” 14 Jesus answered, “Even if I do bear witness about myself, (F)my testimony is true, for I know (G)where I came from and (H)where I am going, but (I)you do not know where I come from or where I am going. 15 (J)You judge according to the flesh; (K)I judge no one. 16 Yet even if I do judge, (L)my judgment is true, for (M)it is not I alone who judge, but I and the Father[a] who sent me. 17 (N)In your Law it is written that the testimony of two people is true. 18 I am the one who bears witness about myself, and (O)the Father who sent me bears witness about me.” 19 They said to him therefore, “Where is your Father?” Jesus answered, (P)“You know neither me nor my Father. (Q)If you knew me, you would know my Father also.”
