⁴⁰ How I long for your precepts!^(A)
Give me life through your righteousness.

⁴¹ Let your faithful love come to me, Lord,^(B)
your salvation, as you promised.^(C)
42 Then I can answer the one who taunts me,^(D)
for I trust in your word.
