33 (A)Teach me, the way of Your statutes, Lord,
And I shall comply with it to the end.
34 (B)Give me understanding, so that I may (C)comply with Your Law
And keep it (D)with all my heart.
35 Make me walk in the (E)path of Your commandments,
For I (F)delight in it.
36 (G)Incline my heart to Your testimonies,
And not to (H)dishonest gain.
37 Turn my (I)eyes away from looking at what is worthless,
And (J)revive me in Your ways.
38 (K)Establish Your [a]word to Your servant
[b]As that which produces reverence for You.
39 (L)Take away my disgrace which I dread,
For Your judgments are good.
40 Behold, I (M)long for Your precepts;
Revive me through Your righteousness.

35 Direct me(E) in the path of your commands,(F)
for there I find delight.(G)
36 Turn my heart(H) toward your statutes
and not toward selfish gain.(I)
37 Turn my eyes away from worthless things;
preserve my life(J) according to your word.[b](K)
38 Fulfill your promise(L) to your servant,
so that you may be feared.
39 Take away the disgrace(M) I dread,
for your laws are good.
40 How I long(N) for your precepts!

And I will [steadfastly] observe it to the end.

Give me understanding [a teachable heart and the ability to learn], that I may keep Your law;
And observe it with all my heart.(A)
35
Make me walk in the path of Your commandments,
For I delight in it.
36
Incline my heart to Your testimonies
And not to dishonest gain and envy.(B)
37
Turn my eyes away from vanity [all those worldly, meaningless things that distract—let Your priorities be mine],
And restore me [with renewed energy] in Your ways.
38
Establish Your word and confirm Your promise to Your servant,
As that which produces [awe-inspired] reverence for You.(C)
39
Turn away my reproach which I dread,
For Your ordinances are good.
40
I long for Your precepts;
Renew me through Your righteousness.

33 Ensina-me, ó Senhor, o caminho dos teus estatutos, e guardá-lo-ei até o fim. 34 Dá-me entendimento, e guardarei a tua lei e observá-la-ei de todo o coração. 35 Faze-me andar na verdade dos teus mandamentos, porque nela tenho prazer. 36 Inclina o meu coração a teus testemunhos e não à cobiça. 37 Desvia os meus olhos de contemplarem a vaidade e vivifica-me no teu caminho. 38 Confirma a tua promessa ao teu servo, que se inclina ao teu temor. 39 Desvia de mim o opróbrio que temo, pois os teus juízos são bons. 40 Eis que tenho desejado os teus preceitos; vivifica-me por tua justiça.

35 Dirige-me pelo caminho
dos teus mandamentos,
pois nele encontro satisfação.
36 Inclina o meu coração para os teus estatutos,
e não para a ganância.
37 Desvia os meus olhos das coisas inúteis;
faze-me viver nos caminhos que traçaste.[a]
38 Cumpre a tua promessa
para com o teu servo,
para que sejas temido.
39 Livra-me da afronta que me apavora,
pois as tuas ordenanças são boas.
40 Como anseio pelos teus preceitos!
Preserva a minha vida por tua justiça!
