116 I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.
2 Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.
3 The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.
4 Then called I upon the name of the Lord; O Lord, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.
5 Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.
6 The Lord preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.
7 Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee.
8 For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.
9 I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living.
10 I believed, therefore have I spoken: I was greatly afflicted:
11 I said in my haste, All men are liars.
12 What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits toward me?
13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord.
14 I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people.
15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.
16 O Lord, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.
17 I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the Lord.
18 I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people.
19 In the courts of the Lord's house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye the Lord.

I Love the Lord
116 I (A)love the Lord, because he has (B)heard
my voice and my pleas for mercy.
2 Because he (C)inclined his ear to me,
therefore I will call on him as long as I live.
3 (D)The snares of death encompassed me;
the pangs of Sheol laid hold on me;
I suffered distress and anguish.
4 Then (E)I called on the name of the Lord:
“O Lord, I pray, deliver my soul!”
5 (F)Gracious is the Lord, and (G)righteous;
our God is (H)merciful.
6 The Lord preserves (I)the simple;
when (J)I was brought low, he saved me.

for the Lord has (L)dealt bountifully with you.

El Señor ha hecho bien a su siervo
1 Amo al SEÑOR
porque escucha mis oraciones;
2 me escucha cuando le pido ayuda.
Por eso le seguiré pidiendo toda mi vida.
3 La muerte me enredó con sus cuerdas,
el lugar de los muertos ya me estaba encerrando.
Estaba yo lleno de angustias y sufrimientos.
4 Entonces llamé al SEÑOR y le pedí ayuda.
Dije: «¡SEÑOR, sálvame, te lo ruego!»
5 El SEÑOR es compasivo y justo;
nuestro Dios es misericordioso.
6 El SEÑOR protege a la gente sencilla;
me quedé sin fuerzas y él me salvó.
7 Me dijo a mi mismo: «Confía de nuevo en Dios»,
que el SEÑOR ha sido bueno contigo.
8 Dios mío, tú me salvaste de la muerte;
secaste las lágrimas de mis ojos
y no me dejaste caer.
9 Seguiré haciendo lo que le agrada al SEÑOR
aquí en la tierra de los vivos.
10 Aunque pensaba: «Qué desgraciado soy»,
seguí creyendo en él.
11 Desesperado pensaba
que todos los seres humanos son unos mentirosos.
12 ¿Cómo le puedo pagar al SEÑOR
por todo el bien que me ha hecho?
13 Él me salvó, así que brindaré por él,
y alabaré el nombre del SEÑOR.
14 Cumpliré frente a todo el mundo
las promesas que le hice al SEÑOR.
15 Para el SEÑOR es muy dolorosa
la muerte de uno de sus fieles.
16 SEÑOR, yo soy tu siervo,
hijo de una sierva tuya.
Tú has roto mis cadenas.
17 Te haré mi ofrenda de agradecimiento;
invocaré el nombre del SEÑOR.
18 Cumpliré frente a todo el mundo
las promesas que le hice al SEÑOR,
19 en los patios del templo del SEÑOR,
en medio de ti, Jerusalén.

the anguish of the grave came over me;
I was overcome by distress and sorrow.
4 Then I called on the name(F) of the Lord:
“Lord, save me!(G)”
5 The Lord is gracious and righteous;(H)
our God is full of compassion.(I)
6 The Lord protects the unwary;
when I was brought low,(J) he saved me.(K)
8 For you, Lord, have delivered me(N) from death,
my eyes from tears,
my feet from stumbling,

10 I trusted(Q) in the Lord when I said,

12 What shall I return to the Lord
for all his goodness(T) to me?
13 I will lift up the cup of salvation

14 I will fulfill my vows(V) to the Lord
in the presence of all his people.

is the death of his faithful servants.(X)
16 Truly I am your servant, Lord;(Y)
I serve you just as my mother did;(Z)
you have freed me from my chains.(AA)
17 I will sacrifice a thank offering(AB) to you
and call on the name of the Lord.
