115 Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake.

Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God?

But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.

Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.

They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not:

They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not:

They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat.

They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them.

O Israel, trust thou in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.

10 O house of Aaron, trust in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.

11 Ye that fear the Lord, trust in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.

12 The Lord hath been mindful of us: he will bless us; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron.

13 He will bless them that fear the Lord, both small and great.

14 The Lord shall increase you more and more, you and your children.

15 Ye are blessed of the Lord which made heaven and earth.

16 The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord's: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.

17 The dead praise not the Lord, neither any that go down into silence.

18 But we will bless the Lord from this time forth and for evermore. Praise the Lord.

Pagan Idols Contrasted with the Lord.

115 Not to us, O Lord, not to us,
But to Your name give glory
Because of Your lovingkindness, because of Your truth and faithfulness.

Why should the nations say,
“Where, now, is their God?”

But our God is in heaven;
He does whatever He pleases.

The idols [of the nations] are silver and gold,
The work of man’s hands.

They have mouths, but they cannot speak;
They have eyes, but they cannot see;

They have ears, but they cannot hear;
They have noses, but they cannot smell;

They have hands, but they cannot feel;
They have feet, but they cannot walk;
Nor can they make a sound with their throats.

Those who make them will become like them,
Everyone who trusts in them.(A)

O Israel, trust and take refuge in the Lord! [Be confident in Him, cling to Him, rely on His word!]
He is their help and their shield.
10
O house of Aaron, trust in the Lord;
He is their help and their shield.
11
You who [reverently] fear the Lord, trust in Lord;
He is their help and their shield.
12
The Lord has been mindful of us; He will bless,
He will bless the house of Israel;
He will bless the house of Aaron.
13
He will bless those who fear and worship the Lord [with awe-inspired reverence and submissive wonder],
Both the small and the great.(B)
14
May the Lord give you [great] increase,
You and your children.
15
May you be blessed of the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.

16
The heavens are the heavens of the Lord,
But the earth He has given to the children of men.
17
The dead do not praise the Lord,
Nor do any who go down into silence;
18
But as for us, we will bless and affectionately and gratefully praise the Lord
From this time forth and forever.
Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)

Contraste entre los ídolos y el Señor

115 No a nosotros, Señor, no a nosotros(A),
Sino a Tu nombre da gloria(B),
Por Tu misericordia, por Tu fidelidad[a].
¿Por qué han de decir las naciones(C):
«¿Dónde está ahora su Dios(D)?».
Nuestro Dios está en los cielos(E);
Él hace lo que le place(F).
(G)Los ídolos de ellos son plata y oro(H),
Obra de manos de hombre(I).
Tienen boca, y no hablan(J);
Tienen ojos, y no ven;
Tienen oídos, y no oyen;
Tienen nariz, y no huelen;
Tienen manos, y no tocan;
Tienen pies, y no caminan;
No emiten sonido alguno con su garganta.
Se volverán como ellos los que los hacen,
Y todos los que en ellos confían(K).

Oh Israel(L), confía en el Señor(M);
Él es tu ayuda y tu escudo(N).
10 Oh casa de Aarón(O), confíen ustedes en el Señor;
Él es su ayuda y su escudo.
11 Los que temen[b] al Señor(P), confíen en el Señor;
Él es su ayuda y su escudo.
12 El Señor se ha acordado de nosotros(Q); Él nos bendecirá;
Bendecirá a la casa de Israel;

¡Aleluya!
