The Majesty and Condescension of God
113 Praise[a] the Lord!
(A)Praise, O servants of the Lord,
Praise the name of the Lord!
2 (B)Blessed be the name of the Lord
From this time forth and forevermore!
3 (C)From the rising of the sun to its going down
The Lord’s name is to be praised.
4 The Lord is (D)high above all nations,
(E)His glory above the heavens.
5 (F)Who is like the Lord our God,
Who dwells on high,
6 (G)Who humbles Himself to behold
The things that are in the heavens and in the earth?
7 (H)He raises the poor out of the dust,
And lifts the (I)needy out of the ash heap,
8 That He may (J)seat him with princes—
With the princes of His people.
9 (K)He grants the [b]barren woman a home,
Like a joyful mother of children.
Praise the Lord!

Serviteurs de l’Eternel, louez,

2 Que le nom de l’Eternel soit béni,
dès maintenant et pour toujours!
3 Du lever du soleil jusqu’à son coucher,
que le nom de l’Eternel soit célébré!
4 L’Eternel domine toutes les nations,
sa gloire s’élève plus haut que le ciel.
5 Qui est semblable à l’Eternel, notre Dieu?
Il a sa demeure en haut,
6 et il s’abaisse pour regarder
le ciel et la terre.
7 De la poussière il relève le faible,
du fumier il retire le pauvre,
8 pour les faire asseoir avec les grands,
avec les grands de son peuple.
9 Il donne une famille à celle qui était stérile,
il fait d’elle une mère joyeuse au milieu de ses enfants.

5 (J)Who is like the Lord our God,
who is seated on high,
6 who (K)looks far down
on the heavens and the earth?
7 He (L)raises the poor from the dust
and lifts the needy from the ash heap,
8 to make them (M)sit with princes,
with the princes of his people.
9 He (N)gives the barren woman a home,
making her the joyous mother of children.
