Psalm 113
1 Halleluja! Prijs de Heer!
Dienaren van de Heer, prijs Hem!
2 Prijs de Heer, nu en voor eeuwig.
3 Laat iedereen de Heer prijzen,
vanaf de plaats waar de zon opkomt
tot daar waar de zon ondergaat.
4 De Heer heerst over alle volken.
Zo hoog als de hemel is, zó groot is zijn macht en majesteit.
5 Is er iemand zoals onze Heer God?
Hij woont in de hoogste hemel.
6 Maar Hij ziet alles,
diep beneden Zich op de aarde.
7 Hij tilt arme en verdrukte mensen op.
Hij tilt ze op uit de ellende.
8 Hij geeft hun een plaats
bij de leiders van zijn volk.
9 Vrouwen die geen kinderen konden krijgen,
geeft Hij een gezin.
Hij maakt hen blije moeders met kinderen.
Halleluja! Prijs de Heer!

The Majesty and Condescension of God
113 Praise[a] the Lord!
(A)Praise, O servants of the Lord,
Praise the name of the Lord!
2 (B)Blessed be the name of the Lord
From this time forth and forevermore!
3 (C)From the rising of the sun to its going down
The Lord’s name is to be praised.
4 The Lord is (D)high above all nations,
(E)His glory above the heavens.
5 (F)Who is like the Lord our God,
Who dwells on high,
6 (G)Who humbles Himself to behold
The things that are in the heavens and in the earth?
7 (H)He raises the poor out of the dust,
And lifts the (I)needy out of the ash heap,
8 That He may (J)seat him with princes—
With the princes of His people.
9 (K)He grants the [b]barren woman a home,
Like a joyful mother of children.
Praise the Lord!

Praise the Lord, you his servants;(B)

2 Let the name of the Lord be praised,(C)

3 From the rising of the sun(E) to the place where it sets,
the name of the Lord is to be praised.
4 The Lord is exalted(F) over all the nations,
his glory above the heavens.(G)
5 Who is like the Lord our God,(H)
the One who sits enthroned(I) on high,(J)
6 who stoops down to look(K)
on the heavens and the earth?
7 He raises the poor(L) from the dust
and lifts the needy(M) from the ash heap;
8 he seats them(N) with princes,
with the princes of his people.
9 He settles the childless(O) woman in her home
as a happy mother of children.

who is seated on high,

on the heavens and the earth?
7 He (L)raises the poor from the dust
and lifts the needy from the ash heap,
8 to make them (M)sit with princes,
with the princes of his people.
9 He (N)gives the barren woman a home,
making her the joyous mother of children.
