Psalm 112
King James Version
112 Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that feareth the Lord, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.
2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.
3 Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever.
4 Unto the upright there ariseth light in the darkness: he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous.
5 A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion.
6 Surely he shall not be moved for ever: the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.
7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord.
8 His heart is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire upon his enemies.
9 He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour.
10 The wicked shall see it, and be grieved; he shall gnash with his teeth, and melt away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.

Prosperity of One Who Fears the Lord.
112 [a]Praise [b]the Lord!
(A)Blessed is a person who [c]fears the Lord,
Who greatly (B)delights in His commandments.
2 His [d](C)descendants will be mighty [e]on the earth;
The generation of the (D)upright will be blessed.
3 (E)Wealth and riches are in his house,
And his righteousness endures forever.
4 Light shines in the darkness (F)for the upright;
He is (G)gracious, compassionate, and righteous.
5 It goes well for a person who (H)is gracious and lends;
He will [f]maintain his cause in judgment.
6 For he will (I)never be shaken;
The (J)righteous will be [g]remembered forever.
7 He will not fear (K)bad news;
His (L)heart is steadfast, (M)trusting in the Lord.
8 His (N)heart is firm, he (O)will not fear,
[h]But will (P)look with satisfaction on his enemies.
9 [i]He (Q)has given freely to the poor,
His righteousness endures forever;
His (R)horn will be exalted in honor.
10 The (S)wicked will see it and be [j]vexed,
He will (T)gnash his teeth and (U)melt away;
The (V)desire of the wicked will perish.

Gelukkig is ieder
die ontzag heeft voor de Here
en van harte bereid is zijn geboden na te volgen.
2 Zijn nageslacht
zal op aarde machtig worden.
Alle oprechte mensen worden gezegend.
3 De Here voorziet hen
van alles wat zij nodig hebben
en rijkdom wordt hun deel.
Zijn rechtvaardigheid houdt eeuwig stand.
4 God laat zijn licht schijnen voor de gelovigen,
ondanks de duisternis waarin zij soms leven.
Hij geeft hun genade en recht
en ook zijn liefdevolle meeleven.
5 Iemand die zich om anderen bekommert
en leent waar dat nodig is
en eerlijk zaken doet,
zal het goed gaan.
6 Hij zal sterk in het leven staan.
De Here zal aan hem denken.
7 Hij is niet bang voor kwaadsprekers.
In zijn hart is rust en vrede,
hij vertrouwt volledig op de Here.
8 Zijn hele houding is onwankelbaar
en angst kent hij niet.
Zijn tegenstanders bekijkt hij met blijdschap.
9 Hij geeft veel weg aan de armen,
zijn rechtvaardig handelen houdt voor altijd stand,
met blijdschap en eer wordt hij omringd.
10 De ongelovige ergert zich aan hem
als hij dat alles ziet.
Hij knarst met zijn tanden,
machteloos.
Wat de goddelozen willen,
wordt altijd tenietgedaan.
