Prosperity of One Who Fears the Lord.

112 [a]Praise [b]the Lord!
(A)Blessed is a person who [c]fears the Lord,
Who greatly (B)delights in His commandments.
His [d](C)descendants will be mighty [e]on the earth;
The generation of the (D)upright will be blessed.
(E)Wealth and riches are in his house,
And his righteousness endures forever.
Light shines in the darkness (F)for the upright;
He is (G)gracious, compassionate, and righteous.
It goes well for a person who (H)is gracious and lends;
He will [f]maintain his cause in judgment.
For he will (I)never be shaken;
The (J)righteous will be [g]remembered forever.

He will not fear (K)bad news;
His (L)heart is steadfast, (M)trusting in the Lord.
His (N)heart is firm, he (O)will not fear,
[h]But will (P)look with satisfaction on his enemies.
[i]He (Q)has given freely to the poor,
His righteousness endures forever;
His (R)horn will be exalted in honor.

10 The (S)wicked will see it and be [j]vexed,
He will (T)gnash his teeth and (U)melt away;
The (V)desire of the wicked will perish.

The Righteous Will Never Be Moved

112 [a] (A)Praise the Lord!
(B)Blessed is the man who fears the Lord,
    who (C)greatly delights in his commandments!
His (D)offspring will be mighty in the land;
    (E)the generation of the upright will be blessed.

    (L)he will be remembered forever.
He is not (M)afraid of bad news;
    his (N)heart is firm, (O)trusting in the Lord.
His heart is steady;[b] he will not be afraid,
    until he looks in triumph on his adversaries.
He has (P)distributed freely; he has given to the poor;
    his righteousness endures forever;
    his (Q)horn is exalted in honor.
10 The wicked man sees it and is angry;
    he (R)gnashes his teeth and (S)melts away;
    (T)the desire of the wicked will perish!

  2. Psalm 112:8 Or established (compare 111:8)

112 1 He praiseth the felicity of them that fear God, 10 and condemneth the cursed state of the contemners of God.

Praise ye the Lord.

Blessed is the man that [a]feareth the Lord, and delighteth greatly in his commandments.

His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the righteous shall be blessed.

[b]Riches and treasures shall be in his house, and his righteousness endureth forever.

Unto the [c]righteous ariseth light in darkness: he is merciful and full of compassion and righteous.

A good man is merciful, and [d]lendeth, and will measure his affairs by judgment.

Surely he shall never be moved: but the righteous shall be had in everlasting remembrance.

He will not be afraid of evil tidings: for his heart is fixed, and believeth in the Lord.

His heart is established: therefore he will not fear, until he see his desire upon his enemies.

He hath [e]distributed and given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth forever: his [f]horn shall be exalted with glory.

10 The wicked shall see it, and be angry: he shall gnash with his teeth, and [g]consume away: the desire of the wicked shall perish.
