4 Light dawns in the darkness (A)for the upright;
he is gracious, merciful, and (B)righteous.
5 It is well with the man who (C)deals generously and lends;
who conducts his affairs with justice.
6 For the righteous will (D)never be moved;
(E)he will be remembered forever.
7 He is not (F)afraid of bad news;
his (G)heart is firm, (H)trusting in the Lord.
8 His heart is steady;[a] he will not be afraid,
until he looks in triumph on his adversaries.
9 He has (I)distributed freely; he has given to the poor;
his righteousness endures forever;
his (J)horn is exalted in honor.

Your (F)adversary the devil (G)prowls around (H)like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 9 (I)Resist him, (J)firm in your faith, knowing that (K)the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. 10 And (L)after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, (M)who has called you to his (N)eternal glory in Christ, will himself (O)restore, (P)confirm, strengthen, and establish you. 11 (Q)To him be the dominion forever and ever.
