104 Bless the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty.
2 Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain:
3 Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind:
4 Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:
5 Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.
6 Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment: the waters stood above the mountains.
7 At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy thunder they hasted away.
8 They go up by the mountains; they go down by the valleys unto the place which thou hast founded for them.
9 Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth.
10 He sendeth the springs into the valleys, which run among the hills.
11 They give drink to every beast of the field: the wild asses quench their thirst.
12 By them shall the fowls of the heaven have their habitation, which sing among the branches.
13 He watereth the hills from his chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works.
14 He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth;
15 And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man's heart.
16 The trees of the Lord are full of sap; the cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted;
17 Where the birds make their nests: as for the stork, the fir trees are her house.
18 The high hills are a refuge for the wild goats; and the rocks for the conies.
19 He appointed the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth his going down.
20 Thou makest darkness, and it is night: wherein all the beasts of the forest do creep forth.
21 The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their meat from God.
22 The sun ariseth, they gather themselves together, and lay them down in their dens.
23 Man goeth forth unto his work and to his labour until the evening.
24 O Lord, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.
25 So is this great and wide sea, wherein are things creeping innumerable, both small and great beasts.
26 There go the ships: there is that leviathan, whom thou hast made to play therein.
27 These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give them their meat in due season.
28 That thou givest them they gather: thou openest thine hand, they are filled with good.
29 Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.
30 Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created: and thou renewest the face of the earth.
31 The glory of the Lord shall endure for ever: the Lord shall rejoice in his works.
32 He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth: he toucheth the hills, and they smoke.
33 I will sing unto the Lord as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.
34 My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the Lord.
35 Let the sinners be consumed out of the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless thou the Lord, O my soul. Praise ye the Lord.

104 1-3 ¡Alabemos a nuestro Dios,
con todas nuestras fuerzas!
Dios mío,
tú eres un Dios grandioso,
cubierto de esplendor y majestad,
y envuelto en un manto de luz.
Extendiste los cielos como una cortina
y sobre las aguas del cielo
pusiste tu habitación.
Las nubes son tus carros de combate;
¡viajas sobre las alas del viento!
4 Los vientos son tus mensajeros;
los relámpagos están a tu servicio.
5 Afirmaste la tierra sobre sus bases,
y de allí jamás se moverá.
6 Cubriste la tierra
con el agua del mar;
¡cubriste por completo
la cumbre de los cerros!
7 Pero lo reprendiste,
y el mar se retiró;
al oír tu voz de trueno,
el mar se dio a la fuga.
8 Las aguas subieron a los cerros,
y bajaron a los valles,
hasta llegar al lugar
que les habías señalado.
9 Tú les pusiste límites
que jamás deben rebasar,
para que nunca más vuelvan
a inundar la tierra.
10 Dios mío,
tú dejas que los arroyos
corran entre los cerros,
y que llenen los ríos;
11 en sus aguas apagan su sed
las bestias del campo
y los burros salvajes;
12 en las ramas cercanas
las aves del cielo ponen su nido
y dejan oír su canto.
13 Dios mío,
tú, con tu lluvia,
riegas desde el cielo las montañas;
tu bondad satisface a la tierra.
14 Tú haces crecer la hierba
para que coma el ganado;
también haces crecer las plantas
para el bien de toda la gente:
15 el pan, que da fuerzas,
el vino, que da alegría,
y el perfume, que da belleza.
16 Los cedros del Líbano,
árboles que tú mismo plantaste,
tienen agua en abundancia.
17 En ellos anidan las aves;
en sus ramas habitan las cigüeñas.
18 En las montañas más altas
viven las cabras monteses,
y entre las rocas
se refugian los conejos.
19 Tú hiciste la luna
para medir los meses,
y le enseñaste al sol
a qué hora debe ocultarse.
20 En cuanto el sol se pone,
llega la oscuridad.
Es la hora en que rondan
todos los animales del bosque.
21 A esa hora rugen los leones,
y te reclaman su comida.
22 Pero en cuanto sale el sol
corren de nuevo a sus cuevas,
y allí se quedan dormidos.
23 Entonces nos levantamos
para hacer nuestro trabajo,
hasta que llega la noche.
24 Dios nuestro,
tú has hecho muchas cosas,
y todas las hiciste con sabiduría.
¡La tierra entera está llena
con todo lo que hiciste!
25 Allí está el ancho mar,
con sus grandes olas;
en él hay muchos animales,
grandes y pequeños;
¡es imposible contarlos!
26 Allí navegan los barcos
y vive el monstruo del mar,
con el que te diviertes.
27 Todos estos animales dependen de ti,
y esperan que llegue la hora
en que tú los alimentes.
28 Tú les das, y ellos reciben;
abres la mano, y comen de lo mejor.
29 Si les das la espalda,
se llenan de miedo;
si les quitas el aliento,
mueren y se vuelven polvo;
30 pero envías tu espíritu
y todo en la tierra cobra nueva vida.
31 Dios nuestro,
¡que tu poder dure para siempre!,
¡que todo lo que creaste
sea para ti fuente de alegría!
32 Cuando miras la tierra,
ella se pone a temblar;
cuando tocas los cerros,
ellos echan humo.
33-35 Que los pecadores
desaparezcan de la tierra,
y que los malvados dejen de existir.

O Lord my God, you are (B)very great!
(C)You are clothed with splendor and majesty,
2 covering yourself with light as with a garment,
(D)stretching out the heavens (E)like a tent.
3 He (F)lays the beams of his (G)chambers on the waters;
he makes (H)the clouds his chariot;
he rides on (I)the wings of the wind;
4 he (J)makes his messengers winds,
his (K)ministers (L)a flaming fire.
5 He (M)set the earth on its foundations,
so that it should never be moved.
6 You (N)covered it with the deep as with a garment;
the waters stood above the mountains.
7 At (O)your rebuke they fled;
at (P)the sound of your thunder they (Q)took to flight.
8 The mountains rose, the valleys sank down
to the place that you (R)appointed for them.
9 You set (S)a boundary that they may not pass,
so that they (T)might not again cover the earth.
10 You make springs gush forth in the valleys;
they flow between the hills;
11 they (U)give drink to every beast of the field;
the wild donkeys quench their thirst.
12 Beside them the birds of the heavens dwell;
they sing among the branches.
13 (V)From your lofty abode you (W)water the mountains;
the earth is satisfied with the fruit of your work.
14 You cause (X)the grass to grow for the livestock
and (Y)plants for man to cultivate,
that he may bring forth (Z)food from the earth
15 and (AA)wine to gladden the heart of man,
(AB)oil to make his face shine
and bread to (AC)strengthen man's heart.
16 The trees of the Lord are watered abundantly,
(AD)the cedars of Lebanon (AE)that he planted.
17 In them the birds build their nests;
the stork has her home in the fir trees.
18 The high mountains are for (AF)the wild goats;
the rocks are a refuge for (AG)the rock badgers.
19 He made the moon to mark the (AH)seasons;[a]
the sun knows its time for setting.
20 (AI)You make darkness, and it is night,
when all the beasts of the forest creep about.
21 (AJ)The young lions roar for their prey,
seeking their food from God.
22 When the sun rises, they steal away
and lie down in their (AK)dens.
23 (AL)Man goes out to his work
and to his labor until the evening.
24 O Lord, how manifold are your works!
In (AM)wisdom have you made them all;
the earth is full of your creatures.
25 Here is the sea, great and wide,
(AN)which teems with creatures innumerable,
living things both small and great.
26 There go the ships,
and (AO)Leviathan, which you formed to (AP)play in it.[b]
27 These (AQ)all look to you,
to (AR)give them their food in due season.
28 When you give it to them, they gather it up;
when you (AS)open your hand, they are filled with good things.

3 and lays the beams(H) of his upper chambers on their waters.(I)
He makes the clouds(J) his chariot(K)

4 He makes winds his messengers,[a](M)
flames of fire(N) his servants.

it can never be moved.

19 He made the moon to mark the seasons,(AP)
and the sun(AQ) knows when to go down.

and all the beasts of the forest(AT) prowl.
