104 Alleluia. Give glory to the Lord, and call upon his name: declare his deeds among the Gentiles.

Sing to him, yea sing praises to him: relate all his wondrous works.

Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord.

Seek ye the Lord, and be strengthened: seek his face evermore.

Remember his marvellous works which he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth.

O ye seed of Abraham his servant; ye sons of Jacob his chosen.

He is the Lord our God: his judgments are in all the earth.

He hath remembered his covenant for ever: the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.

Which he made to Abraham; and his oath to Isaac:

10 And he appointed the same to Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting testament:

11 Saying: To thee will I give the land of Chanaan, the lot of your inheritance.

12 When they were but a small number: yea very few, and sojourners therein:

13 And they passed from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people.

14 He suffered no man to hurt them: and he reproved kings for their sakes.

15 Touch ye not my anointed: and do no evil to my prophets.

16 And he called a famine upon the land: and he broke in pieces all the support of bread.

17 He sent a man before them: Joseph, who was sold for a slave.

18 They humbled his feet in fetters: the iron pierced his soul,

19 Until his word came. The word of the Lord inflamed him.

20 The king sent, and he released him: the ruler of the people, and he set him at liberty.

21 He made him master of his house, and ruler of all his possession.

22 That he might instruct his princes as himself, and teach his ancients wisdom.

23 And Israel went into Egypt: and Jacob was a sojourner in the land of Cham.

24 And he increased his people exceedingly: and strengthened them over their enemies,

25 He turned their heart to hate his people: and to deal deceitfully with his servants.

26 He sent Moses his servant: Aaron the man whom he had chosen.

27 He gave them power to shew his signs, and his wonders in the land of Cham.

28 He sent darkness, and made it obscure: and grieved not his words.

29 He turned their waters into blood, and destroyed their fish.

30 Their land brought forth frogs, in the inner chambers of their kings.

31 He spoke, and there came divers sorts of flies and sciniphs in all their coasts.

32 He gave them hail for rain, a burning fire in the land.

33 And he destroyed their vineyards and their fig trees: and he broke in pieces the trees of their coasts.

34 He spoke, and the locust came, and the bruchus, of which there was no number.

35 And they devoured all the grass in their land, and consumed all the fruit of their ground.

36 And he slew all the firstborn in their land: the firstfruits of all their labour.

37 And he brought them out with silver and gold: and there was not among their tribes one that was feeble.

38 Egypt was glad when they departed: for the fear of them lay upon them.

39 He spread a cloud for their protection, and fire to give them light in the night.

40 They asked, and the quail came: and he filled them with the bread of heaven.

41 He opened the rock, and waters flowed: rivers ran down in the dry land.

42 Because he remembered his holy word, which he had spoken to his servant Abraham.

43 And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness.

44 And he gave them the lands of the Gentiles: and they possessed the labours of the people:

45 That they might observe his justifications, and seek after his law.

Psalm 104

God the Creator

My soul, praise Yahweh!
Lord my God, You are very great;
You are clothed with majesty and splendor.(A)
He wraps Himself in light as if it were a robe,
spreading out the sky like a canopy,(B)
laying the beams of His palace
on the waters above,(C)
making the clouds His chariot,(D)
walking on the wings of the wind,(E)
and making the winds His messengers,[a]
flames of fire His servants.(F)

He established the earth on its foundations;
it will never be shaken.(G)
You covered it with the deep
as if it were a garment;
the waters stood above the mountains.(H)
At Your rebuke the waters fled;
at the sound of Your thunder they hurried away(I)
mountains rose and valleys sank[b]
to the place You established for them.(J)
You set a boundary they cannot cross;
they will never cover the earth again.(K)

10 He causes the springs to gush into the valleys;
they flow between the mountains.(L)
11 They supply water for every wild beast;
the wild donkeys quench their thirst.(M)
12 The birds of the sky live beside the springs;
they sing among the foliage.(N)
13 He waters the mountains from His palace;
the earth is satisfied by the fruit of Your labor.(O)

14 He causes grass to grow for the livestock
and provides crops for man to cultivate,
producing food from the earth,(P)
15 wine that makes man’s heart glad—
making his face shine with oil—
and bread that sustains man’s heart.(Q)

16 The trees of the Lord flourish,[c]
the cedars of Lebanon that He planted.(R)
17 There the birds make their nests;
the stork makes its home in the pine trees.(S)
18 The high mountains are for the wild goats;
the cliffs are a refuge for hyraxes.(T)

19 He made the moon to mark the[d] festivals;[e]
the sun knows when to set.(U)
20 You bring darkness, and it becomes night,
when all the forest animals stir.(V)
21 The young lions roar for their prey
and seek their food from God.(W)
22 The sun rises; they go back
and lie down in their dens.(X)
23 Man goes out to his work
and to his labor until evening.(Y)

24 How countless are Your works, Lord!
In wisdom You have made them all;
the earth is full of Your creatures.[f](Z)
25 Here is the sea, vast and wide,
teeming with creatures beyond number—
living things both large and small.(AA)
26 There the ships move about,
and Leviathan, which You formed to play there.(AB)

27 All of them wait for You
to give them their food at the right time.(AC)
28 When You give it to them,
they gather it;
when You open Your hand,
they are satisfied with good things.(AD)
29 When You hide Your face,
they are terrified;
when You take away their breath,
they die and return to the dust.(AE)
30 When You send Your breath,[g]
they are created,
and You renew the face of the earth.(AF)

31 May the glory of the Lord endure forever;
may the Lord rejoice in His works.(AG)
32 He looks at the earth, and it trembles;
He touches the mountains,
and they pour out smoke.(AH)
33 I will sing to the Lord all my life;
I will sing praise to my God while I live.(AI)
34 May my meditation be pleasing to Him;
I will rejoice in the Lord.(AJ)
35 May sinners vanish from the earth
and wicked people be no more.(AK)
My soul, praise Yahweh!
Hallelujah!

    Te has vestido de honor y majestad.
    Te has envuelto en un manto de luz.
Despliegas la cortina de estrellas de los cielos;
    colocas las vigas de tu hogar en las nubes de lluvia.
Haces de las nubes tu carro de guerra;
    cabalgas sobre las alas del viento.
Los vientos son tus mensajeros;
    las llamas de fuego, tus sirvientes.[a]

    agua que cubrió aun a las montañas.
A tu orden, el agua huyó;
    al sonido de tu trueno, salió corriendo.

    la hora en que merodean los animales del bosque.
21 Los leones jóvenes rugen por su presa;
    acechan en busca del alimento que Dios les provee.

24 Oh Señor, ¡cuánta variedad de cosas has creado!
    Las hiciste todas con tu sabiduría;
    la tierra está repleta de tus criaturas.

    ¡El Señor se deleita en todo lo que ha creado!
32 La tierra tiembla ante su mirada;
    las montañas humean cuando él las toca.

33 Cantaré al Señor mientras viva.
    ¡Alabaré a mi Dios hasta mi último suspiro!
34 Que todos mis pensamientos le agraden,
    porque me alegro en el Señor.
35 Que todos los pecadores desaparezcan de la faz de la tierra;
    que dejen de existir para siempre los perversos.
