Psalm 104:28-35

New International Version

²⁸When you give it to them,
    they gather it up;
when you open your hand,
    they are satisfied^(A) with good things.
²⁹When you hide your face,^(B)
    they are terrified;
when you take away their breath,
    they die and return to the dust.^(C)
³⁰When you send your Spirit,^(D)
    they are created,
    and you renew the face of the ground.

³¹May the glory of the Lord^(E) endure forever;
may the Lord rejoice in his works^(F)—
³²he who looks at the earth, and it trembles,^(G)
who touches the mountains,^(H) and they smoke.^(I)

³³I will sing^(J) to the Lord all my life;
    I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.
³⁴May my meditation be pleasing to him,
    as I rejoice^(K) in the Lord.
³⁵But may sinners vanish^(L) from the earth
    and the wicked be no more.^(M)

John 3:14-21

New International Version

¹⁴Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness,^(A) so the Son of Man must be lifted up,^[a]^(B) ¹⁵that everyone who believes^(C) may have eternal life in him.”^[b]^(D)

¹⁶For God so loved^(E) the world that he gave^(F) his one and only Son,^(G) that whoever believes^(H) in him shall not perish but have eternal life.^(I) ¹⁷For God did not send his Son into the world^(J) to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.^(K) ¹⁸Whoever believes in him is not condemned,^(L) but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.^(M) ¹⁹This is the verdict: Light^(N) has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.^(O) ²⁰Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed.^(P) ²¹But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God.
