²⁰ Bless the Lord, you mighty angels of his who carry out his orders, listening for each of his commands.

¹¹ For he orders his angels to protect you wherever you go. ¹² They will steady you with their hands to keep you from stumbling against the rocks on the trail.

19 That evening the two angels came to the entrance of the city of Sodom, and Lot was sitting there as they arrived. When he saw them he stood up to meet them, and welcomed them.

² “Sirs,” he said, “come to my home as my guests for the night; you can get up as early as you like and be on your way again.”

“Oh, no thanks,” they said, “we’ll just stretch out here along the street.”

¹⁵ At dawn the next morning the angels became urgent. “Hurry,” they said to Lot, “take your wife and your two daughters who are here and get out while you can, or you will be caught in the destruction of the city.”

¹¹ Then Satan went away, and angels came and cared for Jesus.
