Psalm 1
1 Wohl dem,[a] der nicht wandelt nach dem Rat der Gottlosen,[b]
noch tritt auf den Weg der Sünder,
noch sitzt, wo die Spötter sitzen,
2 sondern seine Lust hat am Gesetz[c] des Herrn
und über sein Gesetz nachsinnt[d] Tag und Nacht.
3 Der ist wie ein Baum, gepflanzt an Wasserbächen,
der seine Frucht bringt zu seiner Zeit,
und seine Blätter verwelken nicht,
und alles, was er tut, gerät wohl.
4 Nicht so die Gottlosen,
sondern sie sind wie Spreu, die der Wind verweht.
5 Darum werden die Gottlosen nicht bestehen im Gericht,
noch die Sünder in der Gemeinde der Gerechten.
6 Denn der Herr kennt den Weg der Gerechten;
aber der Weg der Gottlosen führt ins Verderben.

- (1,1) Mit »Gottloser« (hebr. rascha, auch »Gesetzloser«, »Frevler« übersetzt) bezeichnet die Bibel jemand, der äußerlich zum Volk Gottes gehört und das Gesetz Gottes kennt, der sich aber bewusst gegen Gott auflehnt und sein Wort missachtet (vgl. dazu Ps 50,16-22).
- (1,2) od. an der Weisung / Lehre (hebr. torah). Dieses Wort bezeichnet sowohl die Gebote und Anordnungen Gottes als auch seine Unterweisung und Lehre. Es wird öfters für das mosaische Gesetz bzw. die 5 Bücher Mose verwandt; hier und an anderen Stellen steht es für die ganze Gottesoffenbarung der Heiligen Schrift.
- (1,2) od. in seinem Gesetz forscht. Das hebr. Wort bezeichnet auch ein leises Reden; wer über die heiligen Schriften nachsann, las sie dabei halblaut.

1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6 For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

1 Blessed (A)is the man
