Psalm 1
1 Blessed is the one(A)
who does not walk(B) in step with the wicked(C)
or stand in the way(D) that sinners take(E)
or sit(F) in the company of mockers,(G)
2 but whose delight(H) is in the law of the Lord,(I)
and who meditates(J) on his law day and night.
3 That person is like a tree(K) planted by streams(L) of water,(M)
which yields its fruit(N) in season
and whose leaf(O) does not wither—
whatever they do prospers.(P)

De rättfärdigas lycka
1 Salig är den som inte följer de ogudaktigas råd
och inte går på syndares väg
eller sitter bland bespottare
2 utan har sin glädje i Herrens undervisning[a]
och begrundar hans ord dag och natt.
3 Han är som ett träd,
planterat vid vattenbäckar,
vilket bär sin frukt i rätt tid
och vars blad inte vissnar.
Allt vad han gör lyckas väl.
4 Så är det inte med de ogudaktiga,
de är som agnar som vinden för bort.
5 Därför skall de ogudaktiga ej bestå i domen,
ej syndarna i de rättfärdigas församling.
6 Ty Herren känner de rättfärdigas väg,
men de ogudaktigas väg leder till fördärvet.

1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6 For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
