⁸ Do not harden your hearts, as at ^[a](A)Meribah,
As in the day of ^[b](B)Massah in the wilderness,
⁹ “When your fathers ^(C)tested Me,
They tried Me, though they had seen My work.

⁴³ Many times He would ^(A)deliver them;
They, however, were rebellious in their ^(B)counsel,
And so ^(C)sank down in their iniquity.

¹¹ Because they had ^(A)rebelled against the words of God
And ^(B)spurned the ^(C)counsel of the Most High.
