⁵ You ^(A)have ^[a]swept them away like a flood, they ^[b](B)fall asleep;
In the morning they are like ^(C)grass which ^[c]sprouts anew.
⁶ In the morning it ^(D)blossoms and ^[d]sprouts anew;
Toward evening it ^(E)withers away and ^(F)dries up.

¹⁵ As for man, his days are ^(A)like grass;
As a ^(B)flower of the field, so he flowers.

⁶ A voice says, “Call out.”
Then ^[a]he answered, “What shall I call out?”
^(A)All flesh is grass, and all its lovingkindness is like the flower of the field.
⁷ The ^(B)grass ^[b]withers, the flower fades,
^[c]When the ^(C)breath of Yahweh blows upon it;
Surely the people are grass.
