⁴A thousand years in your sight
are like a day that has just gone by,
or like a watch in the night.^(A)

⁴For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

¹²Teach us to number our days,^(A)
that we may gain a heart of wisdom.^(B)

¹²So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

⁸But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.^(A)
