84 How (C)lovely is your (D)dwelling place,
O Lord of hosts!
2 My soul (E)longs, yes, (F)faints
for the courts of the Lord;
my heart and flesh sing for joy
to (G)the living God.
3 Even the sparrow finds a home,
and the swallow a nest for herself,
where she may lay her young,
at your altars, O Lord of hosts,
(H)my King and my God.
4 (I)Blessed are those who dwell in your house,
ever (J)singing your praise! Selah
5 Blessed are those whose strength is in you,
(K)in whose heart are the highways to Zion.[b]
6 As they go through the Valley of Baca
they make it a place of springs;
(L)the early rain also covers it with (M)pools.
7 They go (N)from strength to strength;
each one (O)appears before God in Zion.
8 O (P)Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer;
give ear, O God of Jacob! Selah
9 (Q)Behold our (R)shield, O God;
look on the face of your anointed!
10 For a day (S)in your courts is better
than a thousand elsewhere.
I would rather be (T)a doorkeeper in the house of my God
than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
11 For the Lord God is (U)a sun and (V)shield;
the Lord bestows favor and honor.
(W)No good thing does he withhold
from those who (X)walk uprightly.
12 O Lord of hosts,
(Y)blessed is the one who trusts in you!
Revive Us Again

85 Lord, you were (AA)favorable to your land;
you (AB)restored the fortunes of Jacob.
2 You (AC)forgave the iniquity of your people;
you (AD)covered all their sin. Selah
3 You withdrew all your wrath;
you (AE)turned from your hot anger.
4 (AF)Restore us again, O God of our salvation,
and put away your indignation toward us!
5 (AG)Will you be angry with us forever?
Will you prolong your anger to all generations?
6 Will you not (AH)revive us again,
that your people may (AI)rejoice in you?
7 Show us your steadfast love, O Lord,
and grant us your salvation.
8 (AJ)Let me hear what God the Lord will speak,
for he will (AK)speak peace to his people, to his (AL)saints;
but let them not (AM)turn back to (AN)folly.
9 Surely his (AO)salvation is near to those who fear him,
that (AP)glory may dwell in our land.
10 (AQ)Steadfast love and faithfulness meet;
(AR)righteousness and peace kiss each other.
11 Faithfulness springs up from the ground,
and righteousness looks down from the sky.
12 Yes, (AS)the Lord will give what is good,
and our land (AT)will yield its increase.

and make his footsteps a way.

4 Gladden the soul of your servant,

listen to my plea for grace.

12 I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart,

14 O God, insolent men have (BS)risen up against me;
a band of ruthless men seeks my life,
and they do not set you before them.
15 But you, O Lord, are a God (BT)merciful and gracious,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.
16 (BU)Turn to me and be gracious to me;
give your strength to (BV)your servant,
and save (BW)the son of your maidservant.
17 (BX)Show me a sign of your (BY)favor,
that those who hate me may see and be put to shame
because you, Lord, have helped me and comforted me.

87 On (CA)the holy mount (CB)stands the city he founded;
2 the Lord (CC)loves the gates of Zion
more than all the dwelling places of Jacob.
3 (CD)Glorious things of you are spoken,
O (CE)city of God. Selah
4 Among those who (CF)know me I mention (CG)Rahab and Babylon;
behold, Philistia and Tyre, with (CH)Cush[c]—
“This one was born there,” they say.
5 And of Zion it shall be said,
“This one and that one were born in her”;
for the Most High himself will (CI)establish her.
6 The Lord records as he (CJ)registers the peoples,
“This one was born there.” Selah

2 My soul yearns,(B) even faints,
for the courts of the Lord;
my heart and my flesh cry out
for the living God.(C)
3 Even the sparrow has found a home,
and the swallow a nest for herself,
where she may have her young—
a place near your altar,(D)
Lord Almighty,(E) my King(F) and my God.(G)
4 Blessed are those who dwell in your house;
they are ever praising you.[c]
5 Blessed are those whose strength(H) is in you,
whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.(I)
6 As they pass through the Valley of Baka,
they make it a place of springs;(J)
the autumn(K) rains also cover it with pools.[d]
7 They go from strength to strength,(L)
till each appears(M) before God in Zion.(N)
8 Hear my prayer,(O) Lord God Almighty;
listen to me, God of Jacob.
9 Look on our shield,[e](P) O God;
look with favor on your anointed one.(Q)
10 Better is one day in your courts
than a thousand elsewhere;
I would rather be a doorkeeper(R) in the house of my God
than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
11 For the Lord God is a sun(S) and shield;(T)
the Lord bestows favor and honor;
no good thing does he withhold(U)
from those whose walk is blameless.

1 You, Lord, showed favor to your land;
you restored the fortunes(W) of Jacob.
2 You forgave(X) the iniquity(Y) of your people
and covered all their sins.[g]
3 You set aside all your wrath(Z)
and turned from your fierce anger.(AA)
4 Restore(AB) us again, God our Savior,(AC)
and put away your displeasure toward us.
5 Will you be angry with us forever?(AD)
Will you prolong your anger through all generations?
6 Will you not revive(AE) us again,
that your people may rejoice(AF) in you?
7 Show us your unfailing love,(AG) Lord,
and grant us your salvation.(AH)
8 I will listen to what God the Lord says;
he promises peace(AI) to his people, his faithful servants—
but let them not turn to folly.(AJ)
9 Surely his salvation(AK) is near those who fear him,
that his glory(AL) may dwell in our land.
10 Love and faithfulness(AM) meet together;
righteousness(AN) and peace kiss each other.
11 Faithfulness springs forth from the earth,
and righteousness(AO) looks down from heaven.
12 The Lord will indeed give what is good,(AP)
and our land will yield(AQ) its harvest.
13 Righteousness goes before him
and prepares the way for his steps.

A prayer of David.
1 Hear me, Lord, and answer(AR) me,
for I am poor and needy.
2 Guard my life, for I am faithful to you;
save your servant who trusts in you.(AS)
You are my God; 3 have mercy(AT) on me, Lord,
for I call(AU) to you all day long.
4 Bring joy to your servant, Lord,
for I put my trust(AV) in you.
5 You, Lord, are forgiving and good,
abounding in love(AW) to all who call to you.
6 Hear my prayer, Lord;
listen to my cry(AX) for mercy.
7 When I am in distress,(AY) I call(AZ) to you,
because you answer(BA) me.
8 Among the gods(BB) there is none like you,(BC) Lord;
no deeds can compare with yours.
9 All the nations you have made
will come(BD) and worship(BE) before you, Lord;
they will bring glory(BF) to your name.

11 Teach me your way,(BJ) Lord,
that I may rely on your faithfulness;(BK)

12 I will praise you, Lord my God, with all my heart;(BN)
I will glorify your name forever.
13 For great is your love toward me;
you have delivered me(BO) from the depths,
from the realm of the dead.(BP)
14 Arrogant foes are attacking me, O God;
ruthless people are trying to kill me—
they have no regard for you.(BQ)
15 But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious(BR) God,
slow to anger,(BS) abounding(BT) in love and faithfulness.(BU)
16 Turn to me(BV) and have mercy(BW) on me;
show your strength(BX) in behalf of your servant;
save me, because I serve you
just as my mother did.(BY)
17 Give me a sign(BZ) of your goodness,
that my enemies may see it and be put to shame,
for you, Lord, have helped me and comforted me.

Of the Sons of Korah. A psalm. A song.
1 He has founded his city on the holy mountain.(CA)
2 The Lord loves the gates of Zion(CB)
more than all the other dwellings of Jacob.
3 Glorious things are said of you,
city of God:[h](CC)
4 “I will record Rahab[i](CD) and Babylon
among those who acknowledge me—
Philistia(CE) too, and Tyre(CF), along with Cush[j]—
and will say, ‘This one was born in Zion.’”[k](CG)
5 Indeed, of Zion it will be said,
“This one and that one were born in her,
and the Most High himself will establish her.”
6 The Lord will write in the register(CH) of the peoples:
“This one was born in Zion.”

84 How amiable are thy tabernacles, O Lord of hosts!
2 My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.
3 Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O Lord of hosts, my King, and my God.
4 Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah.
5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.
6 Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.
7 They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.
8 O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah.
9 Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.

4 Turn us, O God of our salvation, and cause thine anger toward us to cease.
