⁵You have fed them with ^(A)the bread of tears
and given them tears to drink in full measure.

⁵You have fed them with the bread of tears;^(A)
you have made them drink tears by the bowlful.^(B)

⁵Thou feedest them with the bread of tears; and givest them tears to drink in great measure.

⁹For I eat ashes like bread
and ^(A)mingle tears with my drink,

⁹For I eat ashes^(A) as my food
and mingle my drink with tears^(B)

⁹For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping.
