The Son Gives Knowledge and Rest

²⁵ At that time Jesus said,^(A) “I praise^[a] You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned and revealed them to infants.^(B)

³ He said to them, “Haven’t you read what David did when he and those who were with him were hungry—

⁵ Or haven’t you read in the Law^[a] that on Sabbath days the priests in the temple violate the Sabbath and are innocent?^(A)

⁴ “Haven’t you read,” He replied, “that He who created^[a] them in the beginning made them male and female,”^(A)[b]
