18 The whole assembly of the Israelites gathered at Shiloh(A) and set up the tent of meeting(B) there. The country was brought under their control,
Jeremiah 26:6-9

6 then I will make this house (A)like Shiloh, and I will make this city (B)a curse for all the nations of the earth.’”
7 (C)The priests and the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of the Lord. 8 And when Jeremiah had finished speaking all that the Lord had commanded him to speak to all the people, then (D)the priests and the prophets and all the people laid hold of him, saying, “You shall die! 9 Why have you prophesied in the name of the Lord, saying, ‘This house shall be (E)like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate, (F)without inhabitant’?” And all the people gathered around Jeremiah in the house of the Lord.

7 The priests, the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speak these words in the house of the Lord. 8 But as soon as Jeremiah finished telling all the people everything the Lord had commanded(C) him to say, the priests, the prophets and all the people seized(D) him and said, “You must die!(E) 9 Why do you prophesy in the Lord’s name that this house will be like Shiloh and this city will be desolate and deserted?”(F) And all the people crowded(G) around Jeremiah in the house of the Lord.

4 So the people sent to Shiloh and brought from there the ark of the covenant of the Lord of hosts, (A)who is enthroned on the cherubim. And the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, were there with the ark of the covenant of God.
5 As soon as the ark of the covenant of the Lord came into the camp, all Israel (B)gave a mighty shout, so that the earth resounded. 6 And when the Philistines heard the noise of the shouting, they said, “What does this great shouting in the camp of the Hebrews mean?” And when they learned that the ark of the Lord had come to the camp, 7 the Philistines were afraid, for they said, “A god has come into the camp.” And they said, “Woe to us! For nothing like this has happened before. 8 Woe to us! Who can deliver us from the power of these mighty gods? These are the gods who struck the Egyptians with every sort of plague in the wilderness. 9 (C)Take courage, and be men, O Philistines, lest you become slaves to the Hebrews (D)as they have been to you; be men and fight.”
10 So the Philistines fought, (E)and Israel was defeated, (F)and they fled, every man to his home. And there was a very great slaughter, for thirty thousand foot soldiers of Israel fell. 11 (G)And the ark of God was captured, (H)and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, died.

5 When the ark of the Lord’s covenant came into the camp, all Israel raised such a great shout(B) that the ground shook. 6 Hearing the uproar, the Philistines asked, “What’s all this shouting in the Hebrew(C) camp?”
When they learned that the ark of the Lord had come into the camp, 7 the Philistines were afraid.(D) “A god has[a] come into the camp,” they said. “Oh no! Nothing like this has happened before. 8 We’re doomed! Who will deliver us from the hand of these mighty gods? They are the gods who struck(E) the Egyptians with all kinds of plagues(F) in the wilderness. 9 Be strong, Philistines! Be men, or you will be subject to the Hebrews, as they(G) have been to you. Be men, and fight!”
10 So the Philistines fought, and the Israelites were defeated(H) and every man fled to his tent. The slaughter was very great; Israel lost thirty thousand foot soldiers. 11 The ark of God was captured, and Eli’s two sons, Hophni and Phinehas, died.(I)
