Lời cầu nguyện cho vua
Bài ca tặng Sô-lô-môn [a].
72 Lạy Chúa, xin ban sự công minh cho vua
và ban sự nhân từ Ngài
cho hoàng tử.
2 Xin giúp vua biết phân xử dân chúng
một cách công bằng
và bênh vực kẻ nghèo khó.
3 Nguyện các núi mang lại hoà bình
và các đồi mang lại nhân từ.
4 Xin giúp vua đối xử công bằng cho kẻ nghèo,
cứu người túng thiếu
và trừng phạt kẻ hiếp đáp.
5 Hễ mặt trời còn chiếu sáng và mặt trăng còn soi bóng bao lâu,
nguyện họ biết kính sợ Chúa bấy lâu.
6 Nguyện vua như mưa rơi xuống cỏ,
như mưa rào tưới đất.
7 Nguyện sự nhân từ được dồi dào
trong đời vua.
Nguyện sự hoà bình còn mãi như mặt trăng.
8 Nguyện nước vua trải rộng từ biển nầy đến biển kia,
và từ sông Ơ-phơ-rát cho đến tận cùng trái đất [b].
9 Nguyện dân cư sống trong sa mạc cúi đầu trước Ngài
và các kẻ thù Ngài phải liếm bụi đất.
10 Nguyện các vua Tạt-si và các vùng đất xa xăm
hãy mang tặng vật đến cho vua.
Các vua Sa-ba và Sê-ba
hãy mang của lễ đến cho Ngài.
11 Nguyện các vua cúi đầu trước Ngài,
và các dân tộc phục vụ Ngài.
12 Ngài sẽ giúp kẻ nghèo khổ khi họ kêu cầu
và cứu kẻ túng thiếu không ai giúp đỡ.
13 Ngài sẽ tỏ lòng nhân ái đối với kẻ yếu đuối nghèo nàn,
cứu vớt mạng sống họ.

và phì nhiêu như Li-băng,
các thành trì mọc lên như cỏ trong đồng nội.
17 Nguyện vua được uy danh mãi mãi;
hễ mặt trời còn chiếu sáng bao lâu,
nguyện vua được ghi nhớ bấy lâu.
Nguyện các dân được phước vì vua,
muôn dân chúc phước cho người.
18 Chúc tụng Chúa là Thượng Đế, Thượng Đế của Ít-ra-en
là Đấng duy nhất làm được các phép lạ đó.
19 Nguyện danh vinh hiển Ngài được ca ngợi mãi mãi.
Nguyện vinh hiển Ngài đầy dẫy đất.

Give the King Your Justice
Of (A)Solomon.
72 Give the king your (B)justice, O God,
and your righteousness to the royal son!
2 May he (C)judge your people with righteousness,
and your poor with justice!
3 Let the mountains bear (D)prosperity for the people,
and the hills, in righteousness!
4 May he defend the cause of the poor of the people,
give deliverance to the children of the needy,
and crush the oppressor!
5 May they fear you[a] while (E)the sun endures,
and as long as the moon, (F)throughout all generations!
6 May he be like (G)rain that falls on (H)the mown grass,
like (I)showers that water the earth!
7 In his days may (J)the righteous flourish,
and (K)peace abound, till the moon be no more!
8 May he have dominion from (L)sea to sea,
and from (M)the River[b] to the (N)ends of the earth!
9 May desert tribes (O)bow down before him,
and his enemies (P)lick the dust!
10 May the kings of (Q)Tarshish and of (R)the coastlands
render him (S)tribute;
may the kings of (T)Sheba and (U)Seba
bring gifts!
11 May all kings (V)fall down before him,
all nations serve him!
12 For he delivers (W)the needy when he calls,
the poor and him who has no helper.
13 He has pity on the weak and the needy,
and saves the lives of the needy.
14 From oppression and violence he redeems their life,
and (X)precious is their blood in his sight.
15 Long may he live;
may (Y)gold of Sheba be given to him!
May prayer be made (Z)for him continually,
and blessings invoked for him all the day!
16 May there be abundance of grain in the land;
on the tops of the mountains may it wave;
may its fruit be like Lebanon;
and may people (AA)blossom in the cities

17 (AC)May his name endure forever,
his fame continue as long as the sun!
(AD)May people be blessed in him,
(AE)all nations call him blessed!

like showers watering the earth.
