Psalm 69:1-3 International Children’s Bible (ICB)

A Cry for Help

For the director of music. To the tune of “Lilies.” A song of David.

69 God, save me.
    The water has risen to my neck.
I’m sinking down into the mud.
    There is nothing to stand on.
I am in deep water.
    The flood covers me.
I am tired from calling for help.
    My throat is sore.
My eyes are tired from waiting
    for God to help me.

Psalm 69:1-3 New International Version (NIV)

Psalm 69[a]

For the director of music. To the tune of “Lilies.” Of David.

Save me, O God,
    for the waters have come up to my neck.
I sink in the miry depths,
    where there is no foothold.
I have come into the deep waters;
    the floods engulf me.
I am worn out calling for help;
    my throat is parched.
My eyes fail,
    looking for my God.
