Psalm 66:7-12
The Message
7 Ever sovereign in his high tower, he keeps
his eye on the godless nations.
Rebels don’t dare
raise a finger against him.
8-12 Bless our God, O peoples!
Give him a thunderous welcome!
Didn’t he set us on the road to life?
Didn’t he keep us out of the ditch?
He trained us first,
passed us like silver through refining fires,
Brought us into hardscrabble country,
pushed us to our very limit,
Road-tested us inside and out,
took us to hell and back;
Finally he brought us
to this well-watered place.
Psalm 66:7-12
New International Version
7 He rules forever(A) by his power,
his eyes watch(B) the nations—
let not the rebellious(C) rise up against him.
8 Praise(D) our God, all peoples,
let the sound of his praise be heard;
9 he has preserved our lives(E)
and kept our feet from slipping.(F)
10 For you, God, tested(G) us;
you refined us like silver.(H)
11 You brought us into prison(I)
and laid burdens(J) on our backs.
12 You let people ride over our heads;(K)
we went through fire and water,
but you brought us to a place of abundance.(L)
