Yahweh, Rescue My Soul

For the choir director. With stringed instruments. According to the [a]Sheminith. A Psalm of David.

O Yahweh, (A)do not reprove me in Your anger,
Nor discipline me in Your wrath.
Be gracious to me, O Yahweh, for I am (B)pining away;
(C)Heal me, O Yahweh, for (D)my bones are dismayed.
And my (E)soul is greatly dismayed;
But You, O Yahweh—(F)how long?

Return, O Yahweh, (G)rescue my [b]soul;
Save me because of Your lovingkindness.
For (H)there is no remembrance of You in death;
In Sheol who will give You thanks?

I am (I)weary with my sighing;
Every night I make my bed swim,
I flood my couch with (J)my tears.
My (K)eye has wasted away with grief;
It has become old because of all my adversaries.

(L)Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity,
For Yahweh (M)has heard the sound of my weeping.
Yahweh (N)has heard my supplication,
Yahweh (O)receives my prayer.
10 All my enemies will (P)be ashamed and greatly dismayed;
They shall [c]turn back, they will (Q)suddenly be ashamed.
