Psalm 35:12-14

12 They rewarded me evil for good, to [a]have spoiled my soul.
13 Yet I, when they were sick, I was clothed with a sack: I humbled my soul with fasting: and [b]my prayer was turned upon my bosom.
14 I behaved myself as to my friend, or as to my brother: I humbled myself, mourning as one that bewaileth his mother.

12 They repay me evil for good(A)

When my prayers returned to me unanswered,

as though for my friend or brother.
I bowed my head in grief
as though weeping for my mother.
