6 (A)For this cause everyone who is godly shall (B)pray to You
In a time when You may be found;
Surely in a flood of great waters
They shall not come near him.
7 (C)You are my hiding place;
You shall preserve me from trouble;
You shall surround me with (D)songs of deliverance. Selah
8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will guide you with My eye.
9 Do not be like the (E)horse or like the mule,
Which have no understanding,
Which must be harnessed with bit and bridle,
Else they will not come near you.
10 (F)Many sorrows shall be to the wicked;
But (G)he who trusts in the Lord, mercy shall surround him.
11 (H)Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, you righteous;
And shout for joy, all you upright in heart!

6 Therefore let all the faithful pray to you
while you may be found;(A)
surely the rising(B) of the mighty waters(C)
will not reach them.(D)
7 You are my hiding place;(E)
you will protect me from trouble(F)
and surround me with songs of deliverance.(G)
8 I will instruct(H) you and teach you(I) in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my loving eye on(J) you.
9 Do not be like the horse or the mule,
which have no understanding
but must be controlled by bit and bridle(K)
or they will not come to you.
10 Many are the woes of the wicked,(L)
but the Lord’s unfailing love
surrounds the one who trusts(M) in him.
11 Rejoice in the Lord(N) and be glad, you righteous;
sing, all you who are upright in heart!
