² For Your ^(A)arrows have pressed deep into me,
And ^(B)Your hand has pressed down upon me.

There is no health ^(E)in my bones because of my sin.
⁴ For my ^(F)iniquities go over my head;
As a heavy burden they weigh too much for me.
⁵ My ^[a]wounds stink and rot
Because of ^(G)my ^[b]folly.
⁶ I am bent over and ^(H)greatly bowed down;
I ^(I)go mourning all day long.
⁷ For my loins are filled with ^(J)burning,
And there is ^(K)no soundness in my flesh.
⁸ I am ^(L)faint and ^[c]badly crushed;
I ^[d](M)groan because of the ^[e]agitation of my heart.

³ For my days ^(A)have ^[a]vanished in smoke,
And my ^(B)bones have been scorched like a hearth.
⁴ My heart ^(C)has been stricken like ^[b]grass and it has ^(D)dried up,
Indeed, I ^(E)forget to eat my bread.
⁵ Because of the sound of my groaning
My ^(F)bones ^[c]cling to my flesh.
