⁸ I will rejoice and be glad in your mercy,
    once you have seen my misery,
    [and] gotten to know the distress of my soul.^(A)

⁹ My wanderings you have noted;
    are my tears not stored in your flask,^[a]
    recorded in your book?^(A)

⁸     He will destroy death forever.
The Lord God will wipe away
    the tears from all faces;
The reproach of his people he will remove
    from the whole earth; for the Lord has spoken.^(A)

¹⁷ For the Lamb who is in the center of the throne will shepherd them
    and lead them to springs of life-giving water,^[a]
