¹⁷^(A)Do not let me be ashamed, O Lord, for I have called upon You;
Let the wicked be ashamed;
^(B)Let them be silent in the grave.

¹⁷Let me not be put to shame,^(A) Lord,
for I have cried out to you;
but let the wicked be put to shame
and be silent^(B) in the realm of the dead.

¹⁷^(A)The dead do not praise the Lord,
Nor any who go down into silence.

¹⁷It is not the dead^(A) who praise the Lord,
those who go down to the place of silence;
