Psalm 146
New King James Version
The Happiness of Those Whose Help Is the Lord
146 Praise[a] the Lord!
(A)Praise the Lord, O my soul!
2 (B)While I live I will praise the Lord;
I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.
3 (C)Do not put your trust in princes,
Nor in [b]a son of man, in whom there is no [c]help.
4 (D)His spirit departs, he returns to his earth;
In that very day (E)his plans perish.
5 (F)Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help,
Whose hope is in the Lord his God,
6 (G)Who made heaven and earth,
The sea, and all that is in them;
Who keeps truth forever,
7 (H)Who executes justice for the oppressed,
(I)Who gives food to the hungry.
(J)The Lord gives freedom to the prisoners.
8 (K)The Lord opens the eyes of the blind;
(L)The Lord raises those who are bowed down;
The Lord loves the righteous.
9 (M)The Lord watches over the strangers;
He relieves the fatherless and widow;
(N)But the way of the wicked He [d]turns upside down.
10 (O)The Lord shall reign forever—
Your God, O Zion, to all generations.
Praise the Lord!

Proverbs 28:11-28
New King James Version
11 The rich man is wise in his own eyes,
But the poor who has understanding searches him out.
12 When the righteous rejoice, there is great (A)glory;
But when the wicked arise, men [a]hide themselves.
13 (B)He who covers his sins will not prosper,
But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.
14 Happy is the man who is always reverent,
But he who hardens his heart will fall into calamity.
16 A ruler who lacks understanding is a great (E)oppressor,
But he who hates covetousness will prolong his days.
17 (F)A man burdened with bloodshed will flee into a pit;
Let no one help him.
18 Whoever walks blamelessly will be [b]saved,
But he who is perverse in his ways will suddenly fall.
19 (G)He who tills his land will have plenty of bread,
But he who follows frivolity will have poverty enough!
20 A faithful man will abound with blessings,
(H)But he who hastens to be rich will not go unpunished.
22 A man with an evil eye hastens after riches,
And does not consider that (K)poverty will come upon him.
23 (L)He who rebukes a man will find more favor afterward
Than he who flatters with the tongue.
24 Whoever robs his father or his mother,
And says, “It is no transgression,”
The same (M)is companion to a destroyer.
25 (N)He who is of a proud heart stirs up strife,
(O)But he who trusts in the Lord will be prospered.
26 He who (P)trusts in his own heart is a fool,
But whoever walks wisely will be delivered.
27 (Q)He who gives to the poor will not lack,
But he who hides his eyes will have many curses.
28 When the wicked arise, (R)men hide themselves;
But when they perish, the righteous increase.

Jesus Again Predicts His Death(A)
43 And they were all amazed at the majesty of God.
But while everyone marveled at all the things which Jesus did, He said to His disciples, 44 (B)“Let these words sink down into your ears, for the Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men.” 45 (C)But they did not understand this saying, and it was hidden from them so that they did not perceive it; and they were afraid to ask Him about this saying.
Who Is the Greatest?(D)
46 (E)Then a dispute arose among them as to which of them would be greatest. 47 And Jesus, (F)perceiving the thought of their heart, took a (G)little child and set him by Him, 48 and said to them, (H)“Whoever receives this little child in My name receives Me; and (I)whoever receives Me (J)receives Him who sent Me. (K)For he who is least among you all will be great.”
