The Lord Exalted for His Goodness.

A Psalm of Praise, of David.

145 I will (A)exalt You, (B)my God, the King,
And I will (C)bless Your name forever and ever.
Every day I will bless You,
And I will (D)praise Your name forever and ever.
(E)Great is the Lord, and highly to be praised;
And His (F)greatness is unsearchable.
One (G)generation will praise Your works to another,
And will declare Your mighty acts.
On the (H)glorious [a]splendor of Your majesty
And (I)on Your wonderful works, I will meditate.
People will speak of the [b]power of Your (J)awesome acts,
And I will (K)tell of Your greatness.
They will burst forth [c]in speaking of Your (L)abundant goodness,
And will (M)shout joyfully of Your righteousness.

The Lord is (N)gracious and compassionate;
Slow to anger and great in mercy.
The Lord is (O)good to all,
And His (P)mercies are over all His works.
10 (Q)All Your works will give thanks to You, Lord,
And Your (R)godly ones will bless You.
11 They will speak of the (S)glory of Your kingdom,
And talk of Your might,
12 To (T)make known to the sons of mankind [d]Your mighty acts,
And the (U)glory of the majesty of [e]Your kingdom.
13 Your kingdom is [f]an (V)everlasting kingdom,
And Your dominion endures throughout all generations.
[g]The Lord is faithful in His words,
And holy in all His works.

14 The Lord (W)supports all who fall,
And (X)raises up all who are bowed down.
15 The eyes of all [h]look to You,
And You (Y)give them their food in due time.
16 You (Z)open Your hand
And satisfy the desire of every living thing.

17 The Lord is (AA)righteous in all His ways,
And kind in all His works.
18 The Lord is (AB)near to all who call on Him,
To all who call on Him (AC)in truth.
19 He will (AD)fulfill the desire of those who fear Him;
He will also (AE)hear their cry for help and save them.
20 The Lord (AF)watches over all who love Him,
But He will destroy all the (AG)wicked.
21 My (AH)mouth will speak the praise of the Lord,
And (AI)all flesh will (AJ)bless His holy name forever and ever.

The Lord, an Abundant Helper.

146 [i]Praise [j]the Lord!
(AK)Praise the Lord, my soul!
I will praise the Lord (AL)while I live;
I will (AM)sing praises to my God while I [k]have my being.
(AN)Do not trust in noblemen,
In [l]mortal (AO)man, in whom there is (AP)no salvation.
His (AQ)spirit departs, he (AR)returns to [m]the earth;
On that very day his (AS)plans perish.
(AT)Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob,
Whose (AU)hope is in the Lord his God,
Who (AV)made heaven and earth,
The (AW)sea and everything that is in them;
Who (AX)keeps [n]faith forever;
Who (AY)executes justice for the oppressed;
Who (AZ)gives food to the hungry.
The Lord (BA)frees the prisoners.

The Lord (BB)opens the eyes of those who are blind;
The Lord (BC)raises up those who are bowed down;
The Lord (BD)loves the righteous.
The Lord (BE)watches over strangers;
He [o](BF)supports the fatherless and the widow,
But He [p]thwarts (BG)the way of the wicked.
10 The Lord will (BH)reign forever,
Your God, Zion, to all generations.
[q]Praise [r]the Lord!

Praise for Jerusalem’s Restoration and Prosperity.

147 [s]Praise [t]the Lord!
For (BI)it is good to sing praises to our God;
For [u]it is pleasant and praise is [v](BJ)beautiful.
The Lord (BK)builds up Jerusalem;
He (BL)gathers the outcasts of Israel.
He heals the (BM)brokenhearted
And (BN)binds up their [w]wounds.
He (BO)counts the number of the stars;
He [x](BP)gives names to all of them.
(BQ)Great is our Lord and abundant in strength;
His (BR)understanding is [y]infinite.
The Lord [z](BS)supports the afflicted;
He brings the wicked down to the ground.

(BT)Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving;
Sing praises to our God on the lyre;
It is He who (BU)covers the heavens with clouds,
Who (BV)provides rain for the earth,
Who (BW)makes grass sprout on the mountains.
It is He who (BX)gives an animal its food,
And feeds (BY)young ravens that cry.
10 He does not delight in [aa]the strength of the (BZ)horse;
He (CA)does not take pleasure in the [ab]legs of a man.
11 The Lord (CB)favors those who fear Him,
(CC)Those who wait for His [ac]faithfulness.

12 Praise the Lord, Jerusalem!
Praise your God, Zion!
13 For He has strengthened the (CD)bars of your gates;
He has (CE)blessed your sons among you.
14 He (CF)makes [ad]peace in your borders;
He (CG)satisfies you with (CH)the [ae]finest of the wheat.
15 He sends His (CI)command to the earth;
His (CJ)word runs very swiftly.
16 He [af]showers (CK)snow like wool;
He scatters the (CL)frost like ashes.
17 He hurls His (CM)ice as fragments;
Who can stand before His (CN)cold?
18 He (CO)sends His word and makes them melt;
He (CP)makes His wind blow, and the waters flow.
19 He (CQ)declares His words to Jacob,
His (CR)statutes and His judgments to Israel.
20 He (CS)has not dealt this way with any other nation;
And as for His judgments, [ag]they have (CT)not known them.

They are to praise the name of the Lord,
For (DA)He commanded and they were created.
He has also (DB)established them forever and ever;
He has made a (DC)decree, and it will not pass away.
