⁸ O daughter of Babylon, you ^[a](A)devastated one,
How blessed will be the one who ^(B)repays you
With ^[b]the recompense with which you have repaid us.

¹⁵ “Raise your battle cry against her on every side!
She has ^(A)given ^[a]herself up, her pillars have fallen,
Her ^(B)walls have been torn down.
For this is the ^(C)vengeance of the Lord:
Take vengeance on her;
^(D)As she has done to others, so do to her.

⁵⁶ For the ^(A)destroyer is coming against her, against Babylon,
And her mighty men will be captured,
Their ^(B)bows are shattered;
For the Lord is a God of ^(C)recompense,
He will fully repay.
