7 Remember, Lord, against Edom
that day at Jerusalem.
They said: “Level it, level it
down to its foundations!”(A)
8 Desolate Daughter Babylon, you shall be destroyed,
blessed the one who pays you back
what you have done us!(B)
9 [a]Blessed the one who seizes your children
and smashes them against the rock.(C)

7 Remember, Lord, what the Edomites(A) did

“Tear it down,” they cried,
“tear it down to its foundations!”(C)
8 Daughter Babylon, doomed to destruction,(D)
happy is the one who repays you
according to what you have done to us.
9 Happy is the one who seizes your infants
and dashes them(E) against the rocks.
