Psalm 12
Complete Jewish Bible
12 (0) For the leader. On sh’minit [low-pitched musical instruments?]. A psalm of David:
2 (1) Help, Adonai! For no one godly is left;
the faithful have vanished from humankind.
3 (2) They all tell lies to each other,
flattering with their lips, but speaking from divided hearts.
4 (3) May Adonai cut off all flattering lips
and the tongue that speaks so proudly,
5 (4) those who say, “By our tongues, we will prevail;
our lips are with us. Who can master us?”
6 (5) “Because the poor are oppressed,
because the needy are groaning,
I will now rise up,” says Adonai,
“and grant security to those whom they scorn.”
7 (6) The words of Adonai are pure words,
silver in a melting-pot set in the earth,
refined and purified seven times over.
8 (7) You, Adonai, protect us;
guard us forever from this generation —
9 (8) the wicked strut about everywhere
when vileness is held in general esteem.

12 (For the one directing. According to the Sheminit. Mizmor Dovid) Help, Hashem; for the chasid is no more; for the emunim (faithful ones) vanish from among Bnei Adam.
2 (3) They speak vanity every one with his re’a (neighbor); with flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak.
3 (4) Hashem shall cut off all flattering lips, and the leshon that speaketh gedolot;
4 (5) Who have said, With leshoneinu (our tongue) will we prevail; our lips are our own: who is Adon over us?
5 (6) For the oppression of the aniyim, for the groaning of the needy, now will I arise, saith Hashem; I will set him in safety from him that sneers at him.
6 (7) The words of Hashem are amarot tehorot (pure words); as kesef refined in the furnace on the earth, purified seven times.
7 (8) Thou shalt be shomer over them, Hashem, Thou shalt preserve him [see 5(6)] from this generation forever.
8 (9) The resha’im strut on every side, when the vilest among the Bnei Adam are exalted.

1 Vino în ajutor, Doamne, căci se duc cei evlavioşi[b]
şi pier cei credincioşi dintre fiii oamenilor!
2 În zadar se linguşesc unul pe altul
şi vorbesc de la inimă la inimă.
3 Nimicească Domnul buzele linguşitoare
şi limba lăudăroasă,
4 pe cei care zic: „Cu limba noastră vom reuşi;
suntem stăpânii buzelor noastre! Cine poate stăpâni peste noi?“
5 „Din pricina violenţei faţă de cel sărman şi a strigătelor celui nevoiaş,
chiar acum Mă voi ridica, zice Domnul,
şi-i voi mântui de prigonitorul lor.“
6 Cuvintele Domnului sunt cuvinte curate,
ca argintul purificat într-un cuptor de pământ,
rafinat de şapte ori.
7 Tu, Doamne, ne vei păzi,
Tu ne vei păzi în veci de asemenea oameni[c].
8 Cei răi mişună peste tot,
când ticăloşia este înălţată printre fiii oamenilor.

Un psalm al lui David
1 Vino în ajutor, Doamne, căci se duc oamenii evlavioşi(A),
pier credincioşii dintre fiii oamenilor.
2 Oamenii îşi spun minciuni(B) unii altora,
pe buze au lucruri linguşitoare(C), vorbesc cu inimă prefăcută.
3 Nimicească Domnul toate buzele linguşitoare,
limba care vorbeşte cu trufie(D),
4 pe cei ce zic: „Suntem tari cu limba noastră,
căci buzele noastre sunt cu noi. Cine ar putea să fie stăpân peste noi?”
5 Pentru că cei nenorociţi sunt asupriţi şi pentru că săracii gem,
„acum”, zice Domnul, „Mă scol(E) şi aduc mântuire celor obijduiţi(F)”.
6 Cuvintele Domnului sunt cuvinte(G) curate,
un argint lămurit în cuptor de pământ şi curăţit de şapte ori.
7 Tu, Doamne, îi vei păzi
şi-i vei apăra de neamul acesta pe vecie.
8 Pretutindeni mişună cei răi,
când domneşte ticăloşia printre fiii oamenilor.

2 Au secours, ô Eternel ! |Il n’y a plus d’homme pieux,
on ne peut plus se fier |à personne.
3 Chacun trompe son prochain,
lui disant des flatteries,
la duplicité au cœur.
4 Que l’Eternel extermine |ces gens aux lèvres flatteuses
et à la langue arrogante.
5 Qu’il retranche ceux qui disent : |« Notre langue nous rend forts,
nos alliées, ce sont nos lèvres,
qui dominerait sur nous ? »
6 Mais l’Eternel dit : |« A cause des pauvres |qui sont opprimés |et des démunis |qui vont gémissant,
maintenant, moi j’interviens
pour accorder le salut |à ceux qui sont méprisés. »
7 Les paroles du Seigneur, |ce sont des paroles pures,
c’est de l’argent affiné,
sept fois purifié |par le feu dans un creuset[b].
8 Eternel, toi, tu nous gardes[c]
et tu nous protégeras |toujours contre ces individus.
9 Tout autour, des méchants rôdent,
la bassesse prédomine |parmi les humains.
