Psalm 12:4-6

New International Version

⁴ those who say,
    “By our tongues we will prevail;^(A)
    our own lips will defend us—who is lord over us?”

⁵ “Because the poor are plundered^(B) and the needy groan,^(C)
    I will now arise,^(D)” says the Lord.
    “I will protect them^(E) from those who malign them.”
⁶ And the words of the Lord are flawless,^(F)
    like silver purified^(G) in a crucible,^(H)
    like gold^[a] refined seven times.
