I will (B)keep your statutes.
146 I call to you; save me,
that I may observe your testimonies.
147 I rise before (C)dawn and cry for help;
I (D)hope in your words.
148 My eyes are awake before (E)the watches of the night,
that I may meditate on your promise.
149 Hear my voice according to your steadfast love;
O Lord, (F)according to your justice (G)give me life.
150 They draw near who persecute me with evil purpose;
they are far from your law.
151 But (H)you are near, O Lord,
and all your commandments are (I)true.
152 Long have I known from your testimonies
that you have (J)founded them forever.

30 “You, therefore, shall prophesy against them all these words, and say to them:
(A)“‘The Lord will roar from on high,
and from his holy habitation utter his voice;
he will roar mightily against his fold,
(B)and shout, like those who tread grapes,
against all the inhabitants of the earth.
31 The clamor will resound to the ends of the earth,
for (C)the Lord has an indictment against the nations;
(D)he is entering into judgment with all flesh,
and the wicked he will put to the sword,
declares the Lord.’
32 “Thus says the Lord of hosts:
Behold, disaster is going forth
from nation to nation,
(E)and a great tempest is stirring
(F)from the farthest parts of the earth!
33 (G)“And those pierced by the Lord on that day shall extend from one end of the earth to the other. (H)They shall not be lamented, (I)or gathered, or buried; (J)they shall be dung on the surface of the ground.
34 (K)“Wail, (L)you shepherds, and cry out,
(M)and roll in ashes, you lords of the flock,
for the days of your slaughter and dispersion have come,
and you shall fall like a choice vessel.
35 No refuge will remain (N)for the shepherds,
nor escape for the lords of the flock.
36 A voice—the cry (O)of the shepherds,
(P)and the wail of the lords of the flock!
For the Lord is laying waste their pasture,
37 (Q)and the peaceful folds are devastated
(R)because of the fierce anger of the Lord.
38 Like a lion (S)he has left his lair,
for their land has become a waste
because of (T)the sword of the oppressor,
(U)and because of his fierce anger.”

“Look! Disaster(J) is spreading
from nation to nation;(K)
a mighty storm(L) is rising
from the ends of the earth.”(M)
33 At that time those slain(N) by the Lord will be everywhere—from one end of the earth to the other. They will not be mourned or gathered(O) up or buried,(P) but will be like dung lying on the ground.
34 Weep and wail, you shepherds;(Q)
roll(R) in the dust, you leaders of the flock.
For your time to be slaughtered(S) has come;
you will fall like the best of the rams.[a](T)
35 The shepherds will have nowhere to flee,
the leaders of the flock no place to escape.(U)
36 Hear the cry(V) of the shepherds,(W)
the wailing of the leaders of the flock,
for the Lord is destroying their pasture.
37 The peaceful meadows will be laid waste
because of the fierce anger of the Lord.
38 Like a lion(X) he will leave his lair,
and their land will become desolate(Y)
because of the sword[b] of the oppressor(Z)
and because of the Lord’s fierce anger.(AA)

14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him (A)of whom they have never heard?[a] And how are they to hear (B)without someone preaching? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, (C)“How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” 16 But (D)they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, (E)“Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?” 17 So (F)faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
18 But I ask, have they not heard? Indeed they have, for
19 But I ask, did Israel not understand? First Moses says,
(I)“I will (J)make you jealous of those who are not a nation;
with a (K)foolish nation I will make you angry.”
20 Then Isaiah is so bold as to say,
(L)“I have been found by those who did not seek me;
I have shown myself to those who did not ask for me.”
21 But of Israel he says, (M)“All day long I have held out my hands to a disobedient and contrary people.”

I Am the Good Shepherd
10 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs in by another way, that man is a thief and a robber. 2 But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 To him the gatekeeper opens. The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. 5 (A)A stranger they will not follow, but they will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.” 6 This figure of speech Jesus (B)used with them, but they (C)did not understand what he was saying to them.
7 So Jesus again said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, (D)I am the door of the sheep. 8 All who came before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9 I am the door. If anyone enters by me, (E)he will be saved and will go in and out and (F)find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and (G)kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. 11 (H)I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd (I)lays down his life for the sheep. 12 He who is (J)a hired hand and not a shepherd, who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and (K)leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf snatches them and (L)scatters them. 13 He flees because (M)he is a hired hand and (N)cares nothing for the sheep. 14 (O)I am the good shepherd. The Good Shepherd and His Sheep
10 “Very truly I tell you Pharisees, anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber.(A) 2 The one who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep.(B) 3 The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice.(C) He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.(D) 4 When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.(E) 5 But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.” 6 Jesus used this figure of speech,(F) but the Pharisees did not understand what he was telling them.(G)
7 Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am(H) the gate(I) for the sheep. 8 All who have come before me(J) are thieves and robbers,(K) but the sheep have not listened to them. 9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved.[a] They will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life,(L) and have it to the full.(M)
11 “I am(N) the good shepherd.(O) The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.(P) 12 The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away.(Q) Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. 13 The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.
14 “I am the good shepherd;(R) I know my sheep(S) and my sheep know me— 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father(T)—and I lay down my life for the sheep.(U) 16 I have other sheep(V) that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock(W) and one shepherd.(X) 17 The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life(Y)—only to take it up again. 18 No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord.(Z) I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again.
